Amp Up Your Brow Game with Eye of Horus Brow Pencils

I blogged about Eye of Horus years ago. This brand has one of the best pencil liners O have ever tried. This time they sent me their brow pencils for me to try. Like most products that I have not heard much reviews or raves, I have no expectations on these brow products. Right now, I am enjoying a variety of brow pencils in my stash and adding a new one would probably not make any difference. But the Eye of Horus particularly the brow definer is such an awesome product, I can't go on with my makeup without it!!!!!
Ultimate Brow Define
Add shape, color, and definition to your brows with just one tool! The Ultimate Brow Define comes with a slim, pointed tip that easily draws hair on spots that need more coverage and easily fills in the shape of your brows naturally. It also comes with a spooley to brush brows and help the product blend in.
Price: 950 pesos

This is a micro/slim retractable brow pencil that comes with a spooley on the other end. The spooley is very useful to brush off excess powder on the brows and blending the pencil color naturally. I got the shade Dynasty or medium brown and it makes my brows look extra define and 3d ish. It creates fine thin strokes that resembles my hair making it look so natural but with right pressure and amount, it defines the outer line or edges of my brows like a pro. It also makes a very sharp tail. I love the color so much because it blends well with my natural brow color. My only problem with this pencil is it breaks easily so make sure to apply as less pressure as possible.

Dual Brow Perfect
Our Dual Brow Perfect eyebrow pencil and gel Duo which sculpts, perfects and tints the brows all in one.
This clever 2in1 product contours and fill in your brows with controlled artistry for perfect arches. Add shape, colour and definition in one streamlined tool, and use the Gel brush on reverse tip to shape for the perfect Goddess brows.
Price: 990 pesos
This Dual Brow Perfect liner consists of a retractable slanted brow pencil and a brow gel. The color of the pencil that I got is Husk which is a light ashy taupe. This works well in filling up the brows and making my sparse brows look a bit fuller than usual. The brow gel is great! It keeps the brows in place and lengthens the staying power of the pencil.
These are the swatches : Ultimate Brow Define and Dual Brow Perfect.
This is how both products looked when worn. This photo is unjustifiable because it did not capture how great the Ultimate Brow Define is! That pencil makes my kilay game so strong I have been using it daily!!!

Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks: Review and Swatches

$

Finally, I am in the Colourpop bandwagon! For months, I have been contemplating if i should get a Colourpop lipstick but luckily, I received a message from an online seller in instagram asking me if I would love to try out Colourpop! I did not hesitate and immediately went over the Colourpop website to check the shades. Thank you @thevanitybelle of instagram for this.

My dilemma boiled down to whether I should get the lippie stix or the liquid lipstick. Since I do not have liquid lipsticks in my stash, I chose the liquid version. Now, there are two formulas that I chose: Ultra Satin and Ultra Matte. The Ultra Satin Lip Colors are the fairly new formula of Colourpop. It is a cross between satin and matte lipstick. It gives off a healthy sheen but adheres to the lipstick like a matte formula. The Ultra Matte Version is almost the same with the Ultra satin Version sans the sheen.

The color pay off of these liquid lipsticks are phenomenal. If you have not heard of the rumor, these lippies are very similar in ingredients and texture with the expensive Kylie Lip Kits. The intense color pigment delivers easily with one swipe. It goes on full color with even one layer and it the ultra matte dries down to a super matte finish. I love how lightweight the consistency of these liquid lipsticks are. They cover up my dark lip lines very well too. Application is very easy as the size of the doe foot applicator is small enough to get into the corners of my lips.
It is long lasting but starts to crumble especially on the inner portion of the lips when you eat oily food. One of the cons is that it is very drying and unforgiving on chapped lips. It is best to use it with a lipbalm for easier removal.

The Ultra Satin version does not settle on the fine lines and does not highlight the dry areas of my lips. This is evidenced by the Lip swatches below. On the other hand, the Ultra Matte Version can emphasize every crack and  dry portion of the lips, hence, hydrating the lips and getting rid of the cracked or dry skin will make the lip color apply look more polished/smooth.
Swatches: Lumiere2, Tulle, Frick n Frack and Bad Habit

Lumiere 2 is a brainchild of my favorite youtube guru, Kathleen Lights. The color actually changes depending on the skin tone of the person wearing it. Lumiere 2 on my lips is a cool toned purplish pink that has gray tones to it.
Frick N Frack is a warm terracotta with peachy brown hue.
Tulle is a deep reddish brown.

Bad habit is gorgeous intense medium fuchsia pink.

Overall, the colors I have chosen areEvery beautiful except for lumiere 2 that do not work on my skintone. My favorite is Bad habit which is surprising because I am not fond of pink lipsticks.

You may order and preoder Colourpop products from @thevanitybelle at instagram.

Review: Pink Sugar Honey I'm Good EyeBrow Gel

$

Pink Sugar is one of the latest Filipino brands. They launched last year and I am pretty amazed with the quality of their products particularly their creamy lipsticks and their blushes. Last month, they sent me their latest products and I am beyond thrilled. Siyempre, as a beautu enthusiast, kilig ako with their newest lipstick shades na ala kylie jenner ang peg. They also sent their newest brow gel. Yung totoo? I did not even care about these brow gels. I am happy with a clear brow gel and most tinted brow gels that I have tried are just mediocre. Pero laking gulat ng lola niyo when I began using this product. Panalo as in winner in english ito!!!!
It comes in a black plastic tube with a regular sized mascara wand. This comes in three shades: blonde, taupe and brunette.

Blonde is a light golden brown shade.
Taupe is a neutral brown.
Brunette is a deep chocolate color.

Taupe works best on my brow color on top of my regular brow pencils. Brunette looks great when used alone and it looks super natural when applied. What is great with these brow gels is that you can use them on their own. Aside from giving brows color, it livens up sparse brows by making them look fuller naturally. Taupe and Blonde works well on top of other brow products but Brunette is best used on its own due to its strong pigmentation. The consistency of these gels are very blendable and lightweight. They are runny and liquidy enough making it perfect for brushing or blending on the brows. Despite its opaque color, the the color sheers out when applied making application easier and making it look natural when worn. This brow gel keeps my brows in place. It is long lasting and does not budge. It also helps lengthen the staying power of the brow pencils that I use.
For 299 pesos, this brow gel is such a steal. It makes my brows look fuller. I love the shade taupe. This is how it looks like on top of my pencil drawn/filled brows. Winner diba?
Pink Sugar is available in Landmark Department stores, selected watsons and Sm Department stores.

What is your favorite brow gel?

L'oreal La Palette Nude Review plus Swatches (with 1 Minute Video)

I have been trying to blog since yesterday but PLDT and SMART have beeb failing to deliver quality internet service. Anyways, if you are following me on instagram @primadonnarence, you probably would have seen my post regarding the La Palette Nude! I got super excited when I saw these palettes alongside infallible products at the Loreal stand. Recently, I was invited by Loreal and Digify to join the Swatch and Shoot launch featuring this palette and their newest lipsticks.

Beforr going staright to the review, let me show you a few photos during the launch.
The La Palette Nude Palette has two shades: Beige and Rose. This palette is housed in a shiny black and sleek compact. The palette is very handy and lightweight. It also comes with a gernerously sized mirror. Each palette has 12 shades ranging from matte to shimmery ones. If you love watching youtube, then, you would have seen this palette being used by US youtubers and our version of the palette does not look similar to theirs. Do not fret, our version is the same with the ones being sold in the UK. I like the color selection of the UK version more plus the packaging look more classy!
Rose as the shade name suggests contains rosy colors from mauve, peach,  toasted champagne, gray and deep plum. I love the shades and texture in the Rose palette. All colors are well pigmented and have a creamy blendabke texture. My only complaint is the gray shade which does not look coordinated with the other shades
Beige is a set filled with neutral and warm colors of browns. The browns in this palette are perfect for contouring the crease. It has a light taupe, reddish medium brown and neutral deep brown. The black in this palette is not as intense as I hope it will be. It also has champagnes and a a beautiful shimmery golden copper color. All colors are pigmented but I had a hard time picking up the light shimmery shades.
Overall, the eyeshadows are very smooth and blendable. Colors are easily picked uo by the brush and even a sponge applicator particularly the matte shades. They do have slight excess powders or fall outs.
The palettes come with a dual ended sponge and brush tip applicator. I do not find this useful at all. Actually, I can use the palette by applying it with my fingers.
Swatch of Rose (without primer)
Swatch Of Beige (without primer)

Overall, these palettes are great for the price of 800 pesos. They already have 12 shades which both have shimmery and matte finishes. The colors are very beautiful and perfect for everyday wear and even for bridal makeup. I love matte shades in both palettes and the color becomes more intense when used with an eyeshadow primer.

During the event, we had a chance to do a 1 minute video. I collaborated with Gem for this. It was an impromptu video and we only had one take. Haha oh Diba feelingerang youtuber na ako. Hehe ;)

What's New: Poise Makeup Professional

$

Have you heard about the newest makeup brand, Poise Makeup Professional? I was fortunate enough to receive products from this newest brand of professional makeup to hit PH shores.

Poise Makeup are classified as professional makeup and not just high-end (MAC) or luxury makeup (Estee Lauder, Chanel) . The colors are customized to different skin types (dark, medium and light) and makes any skin look fresh, flawless, and perfectly natural. Their products are used by famous makeup artists in US and Europe (list would be provided by Rose Dinh) and in popular TV shows like Glee, CSI New York, other TV series (list would be provided by Rose Dinh).  Poise makeup is also paraben free and not tested on animals. Their products are high grade and made in US not in China. Their products are rich in minerals and infused with vitamins and anti oxidants.

I got two blushes from Poise: Malibu and Venice
Venice is a dupe for the famous Nars Orgasm

Malibu is a gorgeous matte peachy coral shade.
Both colors apply smoothly with sheer to buildable coverage. The blush looks natural and seamless when applied. The blushes do not highlight my rashes, perhaps the high mineral content (90%) is the reason why the blushes do not look dry and flat matte on ny cheeks. I do notice a lot of fall outs and excess powder after swirling my brush on the pan. Price: 850 pesos
I got two eyeshadows Coco and Luv. These eyeshadows deliver intense pigment and color pay off. They are very easy to blend and applies beautifully sans primer. Compared to the blush, this are creamy and less powdery. Price: 650 pesos
Coco is a deep grayish brown while Luv is a muted beige with a wash of peach.
This mineral powder suits my skintone very nicely. I forgot the shade name because I threw away the carton after swatching it. Waah!! It goes on light but covers up my redness and rashes really well. This does not highlight the dry areas of my face and looks super natural. The only con is this has a lot of fall out!! Price : 1300 pesos
I was drawn to this lipstick in the shade Boca. Boca is a nude brownish peach. It is very creamy and has a slight sheen to it. It does not emphasize the dry patches of my lips, instead this makes my lips look healthy. Price: 1000 pesos
This liquid lipstick shade is notorious. Unlike most liquid lipsticks that i have tried, this one does not dry easily and has a forgiving formula for dry lips. Price : 1250 pesos
I love mixing both shades. I dab the liquid lipstick as a base and finish it off with Boca.
Here is a before and after photo using Poise makeup. On the left photo, my redness and rashes are very obvious. On the right, Poise Mineral pressed powder magically covered up my rashes. It even made my skin look healthy. I used the blush in Malibu and Boca plus notorious on the lips.

Here are other kaartehan shots showing hoe beautiful my skin looked with Poise Makeup. On my lids, I used Luv and Coco to define my crease.

Overall, I love their products a lot esp. The powder, blush and eyeshadow!! The price is a bit steep. This makeup brand is perfect for soon to be mom like who is looking for a paraben free makeup brand.

L'oreal Velvet Pinks (Review and Swatches)

$

When I received these lipsticks from Loreal, I was beyond thrilled. The Nude Star Collection released year/s ago was by far one of my favorite formula especially the shade Barely Moka. I love the shade pink but the finding the right shade for my dark (lined) lips was really hard. When these lippies arrived at my doorstep, I has high hopes finding my perfect everyday pink. The last pink lipstick I fell in love with was the Maybelline Gradation in Fuchsia and years before that, MAC lipstick in Chatterbox. This Velvet Pink Line has 7 shades to offer and upon seeing the shades on the tube, Rebel lotus and Nymphea were instant favorites.
The black packaging is so pretty and they look good inside my makeup drawer side by side. The shade identifier on the case is quite similar with the color of the lipstick it represents. The shades ranges from light peach to dark plum tones.
Here are the shade swatches at the back of my arms. Some pink shaades look almost similar with each other but with different tones.

Jasmine is a light nude peach.
Primrose is hot coral pink.
Iris is a medium milky pink.
Nymphea is the shade worn by Solenn on her wedding. This shade is a natural rosy pink.
Fuchsia is a deep barbie hot pink.
Rebel lotus is a plum magenta shade.
Camelia is a cool tone pink with tons of  blue undertones.

I wanted to do lip swatches of each shade but failed because I can't seem to identify some shades that i forgot to take a photo of Fuchsia.
Jasmine, Primrose, Iris, and Nymphea
Rebel Lotus and Camelia

These lipsticks have a very light feel and texture. One of the most comfortable lipsticks I have ever tried. This has a balmy feel to them which I really love. The colors are all wearable even the darker ones because they look like a heavily tinted balm when worn on the lips. The lipstick has an okay staying power. It does not bleed nor gets runny on the lips despite having a slightly glossy finish or sheen. Sadly, I am on the fence on these lippies. Despite its great formulation, I can't seem to make them work on my dark lips. I constantly need to pair then with a lip liner which alters the shade of the lipsticks when combined. I also think that this lipstick emphasizes the dryness and lines of my lips. Also, there are shades that look patchy and uneven when applied like Jasmine and Iris. I have seen other bloggers swatching these lippies and the colors looked great on them!!! I really think the culprit why these lipsticks did not work for me were because  of my dark lip lines and I have been experiencing extreme dryness and chapping ever since i got pregnant.

Despite some shades not working for me, Nymphea and Rebel Lotus are exceptions in my case. These two shades looked even and apply beautifully on my lips sans lip liner. Also, they do not look patchy on my lips at all.

Price: 400 pesos per tube

What is your favorite shade from this line?

What's New: Etude House Berry Delicious Lip Scrub and Jam Treatment

I have been experiencing dry and flaky lips for months now. Every week, I would experience cuts and wounds on my lips. For a lipstick lover like me, this is quite disheartening. I have veered away from matte lipsticks and everytime I would ware matte liquid lipstick, I knew I would suffer extreme flaking by the end of the day. I do not know if this condition could be linked to pregnancy but I wanted this to cure this condition asap. When Berry Collection of Etude House was launched months ago, I was hoping I would get these lip scrub and treatment in the loot bag they gave us. Sadly, these two products were not part of the PR kit. A week thereafter, I immediately snagged this yummy and cute looking jars to try out.

Both treatment and scrub cost around 480 or less each. They came in this cute little jars like mini jams. Both smells like strawberry and super yummy.
The lip scrub is very gentle exfoliant. The beads are made of sugar, walnut shell powder and grinded strawberry seeds. This is very easy to apply because of its smooth emolient petroleum jelly base. This sloughs away the dry flaky patches of my lips without being too harsh. This also hydrates my lips because of its petroleum jelly base. This has a very sweet candy scent that I love. It also has a sweet flavor due to the sugar mixed to it.
The lip treatment is a moisturizing lip balm. This has a sweet scent and taste to it. It gives off a sheen when applied. I do apply more than two layers of this treatment and it still feels light and comfortable of the lips. I love using this nightly as a treatment and can also be used  as ab everyday balm.
I absolutely recommend the lip scrub because it works as a  two in one product - an exfoliant and balm.

What product from the Etude House Berry Delicious Collection have you tried?

Etude House Beauty Tools

$

I have often wandered at the Etude House Store and I would often find myself busy swatching makeup products located in the middle of the store or sneaking at the skin care counters to find the perfect moisturizer for my super dry skin. There is this portion near the cashier that looks very interesting but I would always veer away from that area because yah know mas bet ko ang bagong makeup or skincare! In my latest trip to Etude House, I got a closer look at that nook near the cashier. That nook contains all the Beauty Tools of Etude House from lash curlers, sponges,  brushes and other stuff.

In this post, I will be sharing with you my newest finds from Etude House Beauty Tools and some old favorites.

 1.       Etude House Oil Control Film (Price: 148 pesos)
This is not my favourite but my husband’s. Yes, my ever supportive husband who allows me to buy makeup every now and then and would actually compliment my contour when it is on point has an Etude House Favorite!!!!! My husband has a super oily skin. He has tried a lot of blotting papers even those popular blotting sheets made specifically for men but this one from Etude House stood out from the rest. He said that this is very durable and sturdy and does not tear easily. It absorbs oil very well and one sheet is enough to zap all (sobrang dami) oil in his face. Also, he said that this does not irritate his oily skin and does not cause any pimples. Every time I will drop by at Etude House to check products, my husband never fails to request me to two or three sachets for him.

2.  Heart Shaped Sponge (Price: 178 pesos)
This is the cutest sponge I have seen aside from the tiny beauty blender sponge that is too pricey (for my taste). This tiny heart shaped sponge can be divided into two and works great when damp. I used it for applying my liquid foundation and concealer. It does absorbs a lot of product as compared to my beauty blender but for the price I can not complain. I find the size perfect for applying products on the lid and under eye. When used for applying foundation, the size of the sponge can make the process a bit tedious. The sponge does not have that rubbery texture and blends the product well. One pack contains ten hearts that can be divided in two.

3. Etude House Brow Shaper and Tweezer
This is a power combo for kilay lovers out there. I received this as part of Etude House Mother’s day gift. They were the first to give me a mother’s day gift at medyo nasenti ako sa thoughtfulness nila. Hehe Anyways, I love how the blade is not too matalas. Also the tweezer picks and pulls even the tiniest and thinnest of brow hairs. This has been my power duo when I am in the mood of cleaning up my brows.

4. Etude House Nail Clipper
Got this last year and it still good as new. Despite its cutesy size, this clipper can cut even my hard toe nails easily. The small size of this clipper can create a rounder cut in a jiffy.

5. Lash Curler for Round eyes (Price: 249 pesos)
I do not need a new lash curler but the moment I saw this curler, it was love at first sight. This curler comes in a unique semi brassy gold shade. It has light pink rubber paddings. It is one of the sturdiest and heaviest curler I own aside from Shu. This has another version for monolids but I opted for this one because I have round eyes. The one for monolids costs 199 pesos. The SA said that the monolid version has a smaller curve and opening compared to the round eyes version. This has a very firm grip and curls my lashes pretty. I do notice that I need to press several times to achieve the curl that I want. It does make my lashes look longer and has a great curling power (after several pressing). Look at my lashes below. I love that I can use it even after my mascara has dried up to give my lashes that final press to achieve lasting curl. My only problem with this curler is that it is too wide  that the edges pokes the sides of my nose.

Here is how my lashes looked after being curled by the Etude House Lash Curler.

Have you tried any of Etude House’s Beauty Tools? I would like to know your favorites! I am very much interested to try their brushes!! What are your recommendations?

Godbless!

My Top 4 Dark/Vampy Lipsticks

$

Years ago, MAC Rebel was one of the darkest lipstick almost every beauty blogger was raving about. My lemming for that lipstick died down when I got hold of Wet n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy which is known to be a dupe of  Mac Rebel. Review of that lipstick is found here. Fast forward to present time, my taste for vampy dark lips leans towards dark plummy wine shades or those that have ox blood red bases. I figured that this shade is very suitable on almost all types of skin tones (maputi ka man or morena, you can definitely sport such color). Alam kong hindi pa fall or winter season (wala naman tayo nun) pero tag ulan na so, nilabas ko na ang dark lippies ko for gloomy days!! I have accumulated quite a lot of dark vampy lippies across all types of finishes and I have rounded them up to four of my absolute favorites. I
Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk in RD 302

First is this lipstick from Etude House. This is a breath of fresh air from the peaches and pinks at the Etude House Lipstick counter. When I first saw this shade, I could not actually believe that Etude House has such a very dark shade. The color is almost red black on the tube but the magic begins when you swatch this product. This has a dark ox blood shade with warm deep brown tint. It gives off a gloss when applied and most often than not, I do not like glossy lipsticks but this one is truly an exception. The sheen is just enough to make this shade very wearable even for day time wear. The shade can be worn as a glossy tint on the lips. With a light hand and tapping motion, I can use this as a tint and by building it up with layers, it looks so sexy and vampy when worn.

Pink Sugar Creamy Matte Lipstick in Sangria

One of my favourite lipstick formulas is found in a Pink Sugar Creamy matte Lipstick. The color Sangria is one of the most unique shades I have seen. Sangria is a frosted deep wine red that has a slight silver and gold iridescence. At first, I was sceptical with the forsted finish. Most frosted lipsticks I have encountered have either made me look like a zombie or anemic. Kaloka. This shade is different. The frost of iridescence actually made the deep shade very unique and wearble. It gives off that metallic vibe that is surprisingly wearable!!!
Loreal Color Rich Matte Red in Pure Garnet

I could vividly remember my friend raving about this the Loreal Matte Red in our viber group. She has been loving pure garnet (if I am not mistaken) and I was not sold. I was never a fan of red lipstick to begin except MAC Ruby Woo. At the back of my head, what is the fuzz with the Loreal Matte reds especially pure garnet (which back then was always oos as she mentioned). Kaloka. For me, it was just another red lipstick which I do not need!! At the L’oreal Swatch and Shoot event, they gave us this shade as part of the loot bag. I gave this shade a try and I thought that if I will not like it I can give it away to my friends who is very much willing to adopt a swatched lipstick. Hehe Upon trying, I instantly noticed the matte rich velvety texture!! I immediately fell in love!! When I finished applying two layers on the lips, I said “ALAM NA!!” The color pay off is beyond awesome. The shade pure garnet is a special mix of plum, burgundy and ox blood red making it look so classy and rich when worn. I do not mind wearing this lipstick while doing my grocery. This is definitely an eye turner and in my opinion look ten times more flattering that the MAC Rebel on yellow skin tone (or feeling ko lang yun!!).

Sleek Matte Me Up in Vino Tinto

One of the newest matte me up shade of Sleek which I got a few weeks back. The Sleek Matte ME Lip Cream has one of the most lightweight consistency of liquid lipstick I have tried. It also has that most comfortable matte velvety feel to it. The shade is a deep plum shade with tons of violet tones. The matte formulation is not a deterrent for a matte and even application and the brush can even apply the product to inner corner of the lips. I love how this looks smooth when applied and does not highlight the dry cracks and lines of my lips.

Makeup Battle: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder vs. Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow

$

0
I was never a fan of loose powders. Aside from the fact that this product is very messy to work with, most loose powders I have used in the past just made my skin looked drier. I am more of a 2 way powder foundation type of woman because I love coverage and compacts are perfect for touch ups. When I entered makeup school years ago, I discovered the art of baking and that started my love affair with loose powders. So when I got married in December, I was in the hunt for the best loose powder to set my makeup. After a lot of research, I settled with Laura Mercier Translucent and it was a life changing decision (charoot). This loose powder has become my ultimate holy grail at tinitipid ko pa talaga ang pag gamit dito. Lately, I have been hearing about the Nichido Final Powder. Some say it is a dupe for the Laura Mercier Powder. Siyempre ako hindi ko matanggap!! I do not believe that a 150 pesos powder could match my HG powder costing a hefty price of Php 1650!! Thus, I decided to put these two powders to a test and compare them if they are really alike despite the disparity of their prices.
 Nichido Final Powder
This is not a new product from Nichido. I have been seeing this powder at Nichido Counter for years now. This has a lot  of shades from the lightest shade, to shimmery pinkish tones, to bronze colors. Ivory Glow is the lightest amongst the shades (kung hindi ako nagkakamali). This comes in a plastic tub with sifter. The powder puff that came with it is not useful and feels scratchy on the skin. This has a weight of 25 grams. This has a powdery scent which eventually dissipates after a few seconds from application. The shade Ivory Glow is a light beige color. The packaging does not say where it is made. I presume it is either made in China or Taiwan.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
This has been in the beauty market for quite some time now and spotlight was drawn to this powder due to the baking technique. Most youtubers I like love this powder so much. This has more product with 29 grams weight. It is made in the USA. It does not have any scent. This has a very pale yellow almost light ivory color.

When swatched side by side, I can not tell the difference.
When used on the face, I can't hardly tell the difference as well!! Anong kalokohan ito?!!? haha

To give you a background on the state of my skin, at present, I have super dry and troubled skin and my psoriasis flare up is at its worst due to pregnancy.  So ayan. If ever you have oily skin or combination normal - oily, I can not vouch if these powders will have the same effect on you.

When swatched, I can't hardly tell any difference between the powders. Both powders are finely milled and smooth. Both powders feel lightweight on the ski. I noticed that Laura Mercier gets easily absorbed by the skin or it easily melts/blends with my skin as compared to Nichido that may need a wee bit more of patting plus there is a need to brush off the excess. The Laura Mercier feels slightly silkier compared to Nichido. (as in slight lang) This is actually unnoticeable pero nagrereview ako so fineel ko talaga ang both powders to differentiate each other. The Nichido Powder also has a bit of brightening effect but Laura Mercier has a more translucent finish and does not add any hint of color to the skin when applied. As for the finish, I must say Nichido looks smoother and more airbrushed on my dry skin as compared to the Laura Mercier. Even my husband commented that the Nichido part looks smoother!! Anuveyen di ako makapaniwala! The Laura Mercier also caked on my under eyes and specifically on other dry areas of my face and the Nichido remarkably did not cling to my dry patches. I feel that my super dry skin (now) does not work well with the Laura Mercier but looking back on my wedding when my skin was at its best, the Laura Mercier gave me a naturally immaculate finish! Pak na pak siya before!! What happened now?

As for longevity, both powders mattified my skin throughout the day. Both powders did not alter the shade of my base (concealer and liquid foundation) except for the slight brightening effect of Nichido. When worn side by side, I can honestly say I can not tell any huge difference between the two.

In terms of application, Nichido works well with a dry powder puff while Laura Mercier works well with a dry powder puff and a damp sponge. I tried applying the Nichido powder with a damp beauty blender and it was a disaster.
 With Nichido Powder
 With Laura Mercier Powder

Can you tell the difference?

Overall, I love both powders but in this makeup battle, Nichido Final Powder in Ivory Glow wins!!!!! Grabe ahh!! I do not think I will ever purchase Laura Mercier dahil kay Nichido. For 150 pesos, I get seamless and smooth finish. I also love the fact that Nichido works well with my super dry skin. At hello, 150 pesos?? San ka pa? Kelangan ko na ata maghoard ng Nichido!! hihihi

This year, I stepped up my skin care regimen by incorporating the use of masks. My ultimate favorite are the ones from Leaders Insolution. I have friends who would ask me for my recommendations fron this brand and siyempre ako naman feeling expert, I gladly share my insights. I could still vividly remember when I first went to the Leaders store in Lucky China Town Mall, I was super overwhelmed with the different masks!! Nakakaloka and nakakahilo. Yes, at first. However, once you get the technique on how to choose the masks that is most suitable for your skin, a trip to their stall or store will be a very pleasurable experience. It will surely be an adventure because you will discover the different skin benefits each mask has to offer. I will share with you tips and tricks on how to make the most of Leaders face masks.

First, know your skin type. Are you oily? Dry? Combination? After answering this question, think of the number 1 skin care dilemma that you have. For example, I have dry and sensitive skin, my ultimate skin problem is having dry and flaky patches due to psoriasis. After answring these questions, the simplest way is to ask the SA the best mask for your skin type or you can DIY. Find the best mask for you by looking at the package labels. The benefits could either be found in front or at at back. Yhe examples are below.

After finding the right mask for your skin type, find the best time when you will use the mask. I usually use it at night time before going to sleep. I read books or watch youtube videos with the mask on. Others use the mask an hour or two before an event to prep their skin for makeup.

Also, make sure to clean and tone your face before using the mask to ensure proper and easy absorption of the mask essence.

You can also pop your mask inside the fridge for a few minutes to keep it cool before usage. I never fail to do this because the cooling effect is so relaxing after a day's work.
Lastly, leaders masks are the most moist filled essence masks I have ever tried. To prevent dripping, firmly press the packaging to control the essence that goes into the mask. Gets? In other words, ipitin niyo sa package while slowly pulling out the mask to remove excess essence.

But wait! Do not throw the pack yet! Use the excess mask and apply it on your knees elbows and even neck area!oh diba? Sulit!

I hope your learned a few things on how to use masks on this post. What is your favorite mask? Have you tried those from Leaders?

Godbless!

IWHite BB. Holic Everyday BB Cream

I am currently blogging while stuck in traffic. I have been pretty busy this past week nawala na naman momentum ko sa pag bblog. Well, this future momma gotta work for the bebe!! Anyways, Iwhite Korea sent me samples of their BB Cream for me to try. Iwhite Korea is known for their affordable products housed in sachets. This BB Cream is no exception. Each sachet is split in 2 and has 4ml weight. One sachet is good for two usages. This only costs 24.50 pesos. Very cheap right? It is perfect for travel and will definitely not take too much space in your kit. I only wish that this BB Cream comes in a resealable packaging because I find the packaging messy to work with especially if this product is used sparingly.

This BB cream is made of plant extracts and smells very yummy (reminds me of peaches). I do not know with other people but I really love the scent of this BB cream. This comes in two shades Light and Beige. The shade light is yellow based and suits my NC30 skintone. As for Beige, the shade is a bit darker than light and it has more of an olive tone to it.
The BB cream has a watery texture and blends well. It feels lightweight and feels very very hydrating on the skin. It does work well with my very dry and sensitive skin. It evens out my skintone but it does not cover my redness and dark under eyes. As I mentioned, this BB Cream is very hydrating, thus, making it very dewy when worn. You may refer to the photo below to see how dewy this looks on my skin. Due to its moisturizing properties, this product tends to cake especially when it layered. My recommendation is used it sparingly and make sure to blend very well. It stays on for hours and works as great base underneath powder foundation.

Overall, it is a good hydrating BB cream but I really wished this has spf in it (para bongga, pero choosy paba 24.50 nalang nga eh). If peg niyo ang dewy skin, then you nay want to give this product a try. I recommend this to those with dry skin.

Maybelline Rosy Matte Lipsticks (Review plus Swatches)

When I got this Maybelline Rosy Mattes last month, I was super excited to give them a try. They were sent to me my by Maybelline for review and I could not be more excited but what makes me giddy the most was the fact that I have not been into pink lipsticks for quite some time now. Since last yr, I prefer nude and reddish brown hues which makes me feel old because these are the shades my mom always look for when buying lipsticks. Or nauso lang talaga ang nude lipsticls because of Kylie Jenner at nakigaya ako. Hehe

This Rosy Matte line from Maybelline Colorsensational is probably my most favorite line. The colors may look pale on the tube and too light for my liking but surprisingly they look good on me especially Rosy Peach.

The consistency is creamy and lightweight. Some lighter shades such as apricot beige and salmon pink may appear a bit patchy especially on dry lips. To achieve an even color and to get most out of the shade, layering is advisable. If you have dark lip lines like me, opting to pair it with a lip liner of tha same shade family will make the colors more beautiful. The only shade that I can use sans a lip liner is Rosy Peach.
These lipsticks have a creamy formula but they do not bleed on my lips. They do not have any scent (as far as I can remember). As for staying power, these lipsticks lasts for more than 3 hrs on my lips without eating. They do not smear nor rub off instantly whenever I drink.

If you find the shades too light, then you use darker shades of lip liner to adjust the tone. Most of the time, I use the lighter shades like the natural beige on top of my deep colored liquid lipsticks. These lipsticks also work nicely when combined with other lipsticks. Contrary to their line name - rosy matte, these have a slight sheen to them when worn.
Here are the swatches of the lipsticks. I wanted to post lip swatches but my dry lips is not cooperating at the moment.

Natural Beige - it is a muted brownish pink
Soft Pink - a light barbie pink with blue undertones
Rosy Peach - a perfect pink in my opinion that works well with my medium skin tone. This is a cross between medium rosy pink
with slight coral hints
Apricot Beige - a pale peach
Salmon Pink - True to its name, this is a light salmon pink

Overall, I really like these rosy matte lippies. For 299 pesos, these lipsticks are very affordable for their quality. My favorite is Rosy Peach and I hughly recommend you get this shade if you are wary of the pale hues of this line.

Godbless!

My Skin But Better: Discover Your Skin in A New Light

Last week, I had the chance to attend the Kojie San Event. It was a very informative afternoon with Kojie San. There are skin experts like Dr. Lindsay Torralba who explained the difference with whitening and lightening.

Did you know that there is a difference between the two? Lightening involves the process of returning the skin in their original state which is before sun damage or discoloration. This process reverses sun damage or skin blotchiness and usually involves gentle routine of bringing back radiance to the skin. On the other hand, whitening aims to change ones skin tone by using drastic steps and this process usually involves harsh chemicals that may irritate or even damage the skin. That afternoon, I learned that Kojie San's main aim is skin lightening. Kojie San is made of natural ingredients and is made up of two powerful based ingredients which are high grade virgin coconut oil and Kojic Acid. Take note that their Kojic Acid is a by product of fermentation when making Japanese rice wine or sake. This is the reason why I love Kojie San. I have been very vocal about my skin disorder- psoriasis and my skin is very sensitive. Finding the right soap or lotion that can bring radiance to my skin without irritating it has been my goal since college years. Thankfully, I found Kojie San.

Kojie San Kojic Soap is the only lightening soap that works well on my dry sensitive skin. It does not leave my skin tight or course after use. I can even go on the day without applying any lotion because it is made up of high grade virgin coconut oil which help hydrates my skin.
I am a few days before my fifth month of pregnancy and I am very glad that I have not yet experienced any darkening issues on the nape or armpit area. Kojie San Products really helped maintain my skin color and gives it a beautiful glow. Overall, I highly recommend Kojie San to Filipinas who would like to achieve radiant light skin without the harmful side effects of harsh chemicals that stripped the skin of its natural pigment.
"Since 2007, Kojiesan has been consistently producing their Kojic Acid soap blending high-grade Kojic Acid & virgin coconut oil with effective lightening ingredients that keeps dark pigmentation from forming and inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, the enzyme that produces melanin. Melanin is the pigment responsible for the skin’s darker color.

Despite its massive multinational competition, Kojiesan’s formulation turned out to be the key ingredient in convincing local whitening fans to become true believers. Today, it is the number one Kojic Acid soap in the Philippines.

With regular use, Kojiesan can slow down melanin production and prevent darkening of the skin. It is best for treatment to even out skin tone, erase dark spots and other forms of skin pigmentations. It also corrects skin discoloration and of course lightens skin. Kojiesan products do not contain any hydroquinone, mercury or steroid that may cause further skin irritation like blisters, swelling and severe allergy."

P.S. I really hope Kojie San will expand their lightening range and feature - body scrub and underarm cream.

Have you tried Kojie San Lightening Range?
Godbless

Makeup Battle: Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray vs. L'Oreal Makeup Extender Setting Spray

Thank you to those who read my last makeup battle post (and sana may nag enjoy) . I truly enjoyed reading through your comments. I think this makeup battle series will be a permanent feature on my blog. I am that kind of person who would spend hours researching about a particular product before buying them. I know being a makeup junkie or beauty enthusiast makes us impulsive shoppers more often than not. But wait, wag kayong papadala agad agad!! hihi Make sure to research on products. On this post, I will featuring two setting sprays. One from the high end and the other from the drugstore.

I am not an avid fan of setting sprays. The last setting spray that I have used up to the very last drop was the MAC Fix Plus. I never saw any difference aside from the fact that it removed the powdery or cakey effect of the foundation on my skin. I have also tried the setting spray, Model in a Bottle and I did not like it at all. I had that years ago. When I got married last December, I felt the need to buy a setting spray that could make my makeup last the whole day. In case you did not know, I did my own makeup on my wedding (proud ako dun char!!!!). Here is the link to my wedding makeup, I listed all the products I used plus photos of my face (magsawa kayo. lels):
http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2015/12/my-wedding-makeup-products-i-used-photos.html

** Brief background on my skin type: I have dry sensitive skin. I am currently suffering from psoriasis flare ups and I have dry patches on different parts of my face.

On the Left Corner: SKINDINAVIA THE MAKEUP FINISHING SPRAY (BRIDAL)
Ingredients
Water (Aqua), Alcohol Denat, PVP, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Sodium Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Dimethicone PEG-7 Phosphate, Caprylyl Glycol, Glycereth-5 Lactate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance (Parfum), Methyl Diisopropyl Propionamide, Poloxamer 407.

I got this from Digital Traincase (http://www.dtcmakeup.com/) and it costs 1,450. I got it primarily because of the tag/variant "bridal" on the packaging and a lot of MUA friends recommended this. This has a very fine mist, paraben free and does have a subtle scent. It never irritated my skin. It is very lightweight and does not leave any sticky or greasy feel after spraying. It did set my makeup very well and could withstand the humid weather of MNL. I love that it keeps my base makeup particularly my concealer, blush and bronzer intact for hours. It instantly removes  the powdery or cakey effect of makeup on my dry skin. Due to its mildness (sa skin ko ahh), I can use this as a base primer before applying my primer, foundation etc. but most of the time I used it  as a setting spray (or post makeup finishing spray).

Apply this on a X or T formation. I do not apply it this way. I just spray with 2-3 spritz all over my face. It says to deliver a luminous finish and it gives off a nice but very slight radiance on the skin. Nothing too luminous in my case. It kept my foundation intact even on the nose area and chin where I tend to lose foundation/powder by mid day. It did lessen my touch ups through out the day.
As you can see, the mist is very fine. This is probably on of the reasons why I love it very much.

On the right corner: L'Oreal Makeup Extender Setting Spray
Ingredients: 896788 3 AQUA / WATER / EAUALCOHOL DENAT.PVPDIMETHICONE PEG-7 PHOSPHATEPHENOXYETHANOLPOLYHYDROXYSTEARIC ACIDISONONYL ISONONANOATEPPG-3 BENZYL ETHER MYRISTATEPOLOXAMER 407ETHYLHEXYL ISONONANOATESODIUM BENZOATESODIUM COCAMIDOPROPYL PG-DIMONIUM CHLORIDE PHOSPHATEPOTASSIUM SORBATEALOE BARBADENSIS / ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICELIMONENELINALOOLPARFUM / FRAGRANCE
I got this when L'oreal had their buy 2 get 1 balm or eyeshadow for free. This only costs 500 pesos. I know there are other drugstore makeup sprays in the market but I chose this because I love the L'oreal Infallible Foundation (US Version). I have high hopes on this product. I immediately tested it the next day upon purchase. It gave me that subtle and noticeable glow. It made my skin look a bit dewy but giving off that healthy skin vibe. It made my shimmery blush radiate on my cheeks and made skin look less dry than usual. I initially road tested it on a rainy day, and by mid day, my bronzer, blush and concealer are still intact. This feels lightweight and not greasy on my dry skin.

I was not sold so I tested it during humid and sunny days and it was such a let down. On my succeeding use, this product stung my face especially on my dry patches. (Akala ko ba dermatologist tested??Or pwede rin na nag inart lang ang skin ko that time). I noticed that my tzone particularly my nose area and those around my mouth started to cake and I eventually had to retouch.
Also, on my succeeding use of the product, the mist was not fine at all!! Look how huge the droplets of this spray are!!! It made my skin soaking wet after 2-3 mist and I had to face the electric fan or fan my face to speed up the drying process. I could only use this as setting spray or post makeup spray.
The Verdict?
SKINDINAVIA WINS!!!!!

Whether it is rainy or sunny, the Skindinavia setting spray works perfectly. It sets my makeup beautifully giving my skin a smooth and seamless finish. It also extends the longevity of my makeup especially my concealer, blush and powder. Whenever I use this spray, I barely retouch throughout the day. The mist is very fine too and does not sting nor irritate my face.

As for the L'oreal Makeup extender, it is way cheaper than the SKindinavia, however, the mist is quite a let down because it delivers huge droplets on my face. I can only use it during cooler days because it can not withstand the humid weather of MNL. I also disliked the fact that it stings my face and it takes a while to dry. I really like the fact that this setting sprays gives me that healthy luminous glow getting rid of the powdery effect of makeup on my skin.

I wanted to post photos of me wearing these sprays to show you their effect on me, sadly,  my camera could not capture the difference.

P.S. This post is based on my personal experience with the use of the product. The effect of both products may vary on your skin.

What setting spray do you use?
I want to try other drugstore setting sprays, do you have any recommendations?

Godbless

Review: L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation 24H (with comparison to the L'oreal Pro Matte Foundation)

$

0

The L'oreal Infallible Liquid Foundation is finally here in the Philippines!! Yay!!!In case you did not know, I had the Infallifable Pro Matte Foundation since November last year. I bought it online out of sheer curiosity because a beauty blogger told me that it was so good. True enough, I even used it as part of my tedious wedding makeup base and landed a spot on my 2015 Favorites -- http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2016/01/best-of-2015-makeup-edition.html I got the Infallible Pro Matte for 500 pesos or less plus shipping. When I attended a L'oreal Event, I can not help but ask the L'oreal team if they are bringing the Infallible Liquid Foundation in the Philippines. They said it was a surprise and I knew from the tone of their voices that Loreal Philippines will be bringing this foundation to our local beauty counters. Last two weeks ago, I gave in to my lemmings and grabbed a bottle of the stay fresh foundation in Megamall Watsons. Yay!!!

For this blog post, I will be focusing my review on the L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation. However, I felt the need to compare it with my L'oreal Pro Matte due to insistent requests from some of my readers. Right off the bat I can tell you that the L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh is different from the L'oreal Pro Matte.

******FYI: BOTH FOUNDATIONS WERE BOUGHT WITH MY OWN MONEY, THIS POST IS NOT SPONSORED*******

Before going to the review, let me give you a background on my skin condition: I have a yellow medium skin tone. In MAC, my shade is NC30. I have an acidic skin, thus, I usually purchase foundations or powder that are one shade lighter than my skin color. I have super dry and sensitive skin. Due to preganancy, my psoriasis flare ups got worse. I have psoriasis patches on my forehead and in between my brows and on the brow area.

L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation
Price: 700 pesos
When I saw this foundation at the Loreal counters I cant help but ask why is it different from my Pro Matte. I did a bit of research and the one in the bottle is the UK version. The Pro Matte  is the US Version.

What L'oreal says about this product:
24H Just Applied Finish
24H Flawless Complexion

  • No Transfer
  • No Visible Imperfections
  • No Visible Shine
  • No Dry out
  • No Mask Effect
Enriched with Hydrating Hyaluron + Extreme Hold Pigments for optimum comfort.

The L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation is housed in a sturdy bottle with pump. I love foundations with pump and the packaging is really hygienic. The pump dispenses product sparingly too and does not squirt too much foundation. I got the shade Golden Beige which is the second lightest shade. I forgot how many shade are available locally, I think there were 5 or 6. I had a hard time choosing my shade because the 3rd shade, Radiant Beige also disappeared on my chin when I tried it out. But knowing that my skin is acidic, I opted for the lighter shade. (Buti nalang!!! I made the right choice at hindi ako nakinig sa saleslady who was insistent that perfect shade for me is Radiant Beige).

The L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation has a very nice medium but buildable coverage. With one layer, it can instantly even out my skin tone and can even mask my dark bags. However, I need an extra layer on my red patches to completely cover them.  This has more pigmentation than the L'oreal True Match. This foundation has a very smooth and blendable texture. It does not settle immediately and I can take time blending this product on my skin to achieve a seamless finish. It works well with my dry skin provided I use a good moisturizer underneath. It does not feel tight but feels a tad bit heavy on my skin for everyday wear. It does not cling on the dry areas of my face especially on my flaky flare ups which is a plus point for me. Like its name Stay Fresh, this has a semi dewy finish on my skin. It is one of the most healthy looking liquid foundations that I have tried that works well with my dry skin. Does it last long? Yes!! it lasts very well on my skin and make my skin look fresh for up to 5-6 hours. As usual, I need to touch up my nose area or chin after a good three hours but the rest of my face looked fresh until the 6th hour. This has SPF 18 but does not deliver white cast on flash photography. It also contains Hyaluron or the Hyaluronic Acid which is known for its moisturizing properties and is a key ingredient in some anti aging products. This is probably the reason why it works so well on my super dry skin.

Overall, this is a great foundation for dry skin! In terms of consistency, texture and blendabilitty,  it is probably one of the best from the drugstore. I also love the coverage and found a shade that perfectly suits my skin tone.

Here is my before and after photo using this foundation.

Without foundation and with L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation

L'oreal Infallible Stay Fresh Foundation 24H vs. L'oreal Pro Matte Foundation

According to  L'oreal, the Pro Matte Foundation has a demi matte finish, 24 Hr wear and has an air light texture. It is oil free and is known for its oil control properties. If you are in search for a comfortable, matte, and long lasting foundation, this is the one you are looking for. This foundation has all the properties that I am looking for in a matte foundation. I can remember my first long wearing foundation was from Revlon COlorstay and it felt so uncomfortable to wear especially on my dry skin. I was really hoping that this was the version that L'oreal Philippines brought in the market. Why? Because this works very very very well in our humid weather!!! Whenever I use this, I barely touch up my skin and it can hold up for almost the whole day without the help of any primer. That is how good great this foundation is.  (Well take note dry skin ako ahh). Compared to the Stay Fresh Foundation,The Pro Matte Version has a matte finish on me. Ito yung mga foundations na plakado agad ang dating wala pang setting powder!! hihi This is one of the few foundation that I can use on its own without setting it with powder but I am afraid of makeup meltdown so I just dust a bit of setting powder to seal the deal. I need to work the product immediately on the skin because it sets too quickly. The only con is that it can cling to my dry patches but kiber na!! I will just a heavy moisturizer and that dilemma is no more. The Pro Matte has a lighter consistency too. I also noticed that it has a tad bit more coverage than the Stay Fresh Foundation. Sadly, the Pro Matte is not available locally. You can purchase it online. I got mine at bonmarche.com.

Here is a comparison the two foundations (both are in the shade Golden Beige):
Pro Matte vs. Stay Fresh
Pro Matte vs. Stay Fresh

The Stay Fresh Foundation oxidizes on my skin more than the Pro Matte Version.
The L'oreal Pro Matte Version in my opinion is one of the best long lasting foundations available in the drugstore. It will definitely work wonders on oily skin and is best for our PH weather. Sana ito na lang Pro Matte ang andito, L'oreal!!! (Demanding lang!Haha) Anyways, I do love both foundations and Stay Fresh definitely worked on my dry skin.

Have you tried this foundation? What is you current favorite foundation?

NYX MAKEUP
NYX Philippines sent me goodies for review. I was a bit giddy receiving their products. I could still remember when I was just starting my blog years ago and NYX Round lipsticks were very popular online so I ended up buying a lot of colors from an an international website. NYX Round lipsticks boosted my blog stats because people were going to my blog for lip swatches. Sadly, my previous photos all got deleted. Pero keri lang hindi ko matake siguro na makita mga Makeup of the day photos ko before!!! hahaha Moving on, I got these makeup from NYX.
I got the shades Fruit Punch and Hunk. When I first got hold of these lipsticks, the weather in MNL was very humid and hot back then. I even thought that these lipstick were on the verge of a meltdown because when I swatched them at the back of my hand these lipsticks felt like breaking. Good thing I did not give them away because these are very nice lipsticks!! They are a hybrid of a lipstick and balm. They looked like tinted lipbalms on my lips! They feel so light and moisturizing. They give off a glossy finish or healthy sheen on the lips.  The texture is creamy and buttery. The color pay off is surprisingly good. Most glossy lipsticks do not work on my dark lips but with these lipsticks, I can wear them on their own without any lip liners. Also, these lipsticks lasted a good three hours on my lips without retouch but sans eating/drinking. However, despite not lasting on the lips that much these lippies leave a nice pink stain the lips. These lippies do not have any scent. My only problem with these butter lipsticks is the fact that they do not work well with dry chapping lips. Because they are glossy and hydrating, they have the tendency to emphasize dryness and flaking.
NYX Butter Lipstick in Fruit Punch, NYX Butter Lipstick in Hunk
I was surprised that both shades are wearable for everyday wear. Fruit Punch is a bright coral fuchsia pink while Hunk is a purplish hot pink.

I got other lipsticks but decided not to open them first because I have so many lipsticks opened in my stash right now. I got NYX Full Throttle lipstick in Lethal Kiss and a NYX Suede Lipstick. Have you seen Zoella's recent bronze makeup tutorial? I am lemming for the NYX Suede Lipstick in Sandstorm because it looks so good on her!!

I also got this NYX Illuminator in the shade Chaotic. This is a nice light peachy pink shade with gold sparkles. It delivers a very beautiful glow on the skin but it does not look like a highlighter on my skin. Instead, it looks like a light blush with sheen. The color is very subtle and glowing but does not lasts long on my cheeks. On fairer skin, this illuminator will definitely show up as a blush.

NYX Illuminator in Chaotic
The product itself is smooth and blendable. Despite having sparkles it does not feel gritty at all.
NYX Green Tea Blotting Paper
Lastly, I tried the Green Tea Blotting Paper. This smells so good. If you are not a fan of green tea scent, this one is not for you. I do notice that this blotting paper works well for dry to normal skin. This will definitely work for those with oily to super oily skin.

They also sent me a tinted moisturizer but the shade I got was too dark for my skin tone. I will probably be mixing it with my lighter shades of foundation to put it to good use.

I miss trying out NYX!!! Thankfully, they are now available in the Philippines.

I have been meaning to have a pamper time with my mother at home and I availed the service with her. This home service spa is perfect for those who do not have time to go out or simply wants to spend RnR at the comforts of their home.

The attendants of Celebrity Nails Spa arrived later than I expected because they got lost finding my place but it was okay since our house is a bit far from the national road. Two nail technicians arrived at my place with large suitcases.
Their suitcase contained the essentials - mats, lamps, nail polishes and cleaning tools. They also brought basins for the foot spa.

I prepared for this pampering treat. Considering that I go to nail salon every two week (three weeks the most because I can't stand long nails on the toes and my dry skin piles up too quickly causing pain), I was expecting that the time for pampering will last for more than 2 hours. My regular pedicure lasts for 1 hour and half because the nail spa I go to is very meticulous with  cleaning. I was surprised that the whole experience only lasted for less than an hour. It was quite swift than I expected. Look, I even prepared my laptop for this!!! The at home spa with Celebrity Nails was over all good. The attendant who did my nails did not wound me nor caused me any cuts. It was quick but my nails were cleaned though not as thorough as I wanted. The nails spa went okay.

It was also a blessing in disguise that the foot spa and foot massage were not that long because I did not know that pregnant women can not undergo foot massage because it can induce labor or contraction! My mom, on the other hand, truly enjoyed the whole experience. SHe told me that she was very satisfied because the manicurist did not murder (wound) her toes. :)
