Magaan Soft Hair with Palmolive Naturals

If I have skin problems due to psoriasis, my hair and scalp have a more serious condition (again due to psoriasis). I am very choosy when it comes to shampoo and conditioner because my scalp is very sensitive. My scalp tends to itch more than usual whenever I use products that are harsh or those that are not compatible with my scalp condition. One of the brands that work well with my sensitive scalp is Palmolive. I really like that they are always reformulating their shampoo and conditioner to make it better. I got the latest sample of the Palmolive Naturals and conditioner from Sampleroom (http://www.sampleroom.ph/).

One of the distinctive features of the Palmolive Naturals Shampoo and Conditioner is their scent. Their scent is very nice. The fragrance is long lasting on my hair especially if I stay indoor. My husband loves the scent of this combo and would compliment me "ang bango naman ni baby!" Nyahahaha I love the Pink version which is made up of Coco Cream and Milk Protein. This variety is specifically for Intense Moisture.

The new Palmolive Naturals has a new advanced formula combining the best of nature and science.  True to its tag line, the Palmolive Naturals Shampoo and Conditioner feels refreshing and light on the hair.
Whenever I use Palmolive Naturals, I just air dry my hair to achieve a soft, bouncy just blow dried look. On its own, it feels moisturizing and cleanses my hair leaving no greasy residue.
The Palmolive Naturals Conditioner is one of the lightest conditioner I have ever tried. It does not make my hair look limp and greasy. It is very easy to rinse compared to other heavy conditioners in the market. There are times that I use this on its own sans the shampoo and my hair still feels bouncy and light.

Overall, this combo truly gives me the Magaan Soft Hair Experience.

Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Shampoo: 180 mL / 14 mL
Palmolive Naturals Intensive Moisture Cream Conditioner: 180 mL / 14 mL

Night Time Ritual with Olay Regenerist

I am turning 31 this year and I hate to admit it but I am seeing signs of ageing on my face. My undereyes have been riddled with fine lines more noticeable than before. What I fear the most is that my dry skin condition makes the ageing process a bit faster compared to those with oily skin. As a result, I always see to it that I am always hydrated by drinking lots of water but as a precaution, I use anti ageing producs as early as now. Yes, we do not have to wait until we are all wrinkly and old to use anti ageing products. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure.

As a Sampleroom Beauty Insider (www.sampleroom.ph), I get the latest dibs from beauty and skin care product releases. The  recent skin care run they did featured Olay Regenerist. I am quite hesitant to try it because Olay and my skin started on the wrong foot way back in high school. I was really into skincare at such a young age (more than makeup) and at that time uso si Olay Total Effects. When my mom bought a bottle, I asked a for a few drops and tried the moisturizer immediately. The next thing I knew, I woke up with a  face filled with rashes. It went on for a week. From then on, I was a bit wary in trying on Olay Anti Ageing products. This time reading through the label these miracle duo made me try it. I first tried if on my chin to check if I have allergic reactions. Luckily, I did not react negatively to the product.
The Olay’s Miracle Boost Pre-Essence is powered to super-charge skin cell energy by 35% in 28 days to strengthen skin inherent young power.
--10X layers skin penetration penetrates to basal layer.
--Bring skin 5x hydration improvement instantly.
--Witness skin translucent, hydrated, and radiant after 1st time usage.
--Improve 20% skin barrier function after using for 4 weeks.

Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-essence: PHP 1,399

I love applying natural oils all over my face to keep it moisturized. This pre essence gel from Olay is really nice. It takes a while to dry but I can instantly feel immediate hydration. This does not feel heavy on the skin and goes on light. It does not feel heavy too. I love applying this with a patting motion. It has very refreshing feel after application and the scent is so nice tok. There are times that I use this in the morning if my face is too dry before applying my waterbased moisturizer.
The Pre-Essence is your immediate next step after cleansing your skin as it prepares your face to absorb the next steps of the regimen. After cleansing your face, apply the new Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Pre-essence on your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Let your skin absorb the product for a few minutes.
Anti-aging moisturizer hydrates and renews to firm and lift, helping retain skin’s youthful surface contours. Reduces the look of up to 10 years of wrinkles in just 4 weeks. Formula with advanced Amino-Peptide Complex penetrates deep into skin surface to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles fast.
Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream: PHP 1,699

On my first use of this cream, I felt tingling sensation. I really thought this won't work for me. On my succeeding tries, I did not feel any stinging at all. Good thing this worked fro em becaus this Microsculpting Cream is perfect for my dry skin. This is a heavy duty moisturizer but feels relatively light on the skin. This gives instantaneous softening effect. My skin looks supple and youthful after every use of this cream. The scent is light and refreshing as well.
After the Pre-Essence Gel, Apply the Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream focusing on your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin.
When combined together, my skin feels very well moisturized and the hydration can be felt even after the next day/morning.
Overall, this miracle duo works well on my sensitive and dry skin.

Have you tried Olay Regenerist products?

Etude House Real Powder Cushion
[NOTE: SKIP THIS PARAGRAPH IF YOU DO NOT LIKE MY PERSONAL LIFE CHIKA haha]
Hello!!! It felt so good to be blogging again after a tiring week. We finally had the chance to move in to our tiny home. :) Nakakaloka pala maglipat bahay!!! Now, I feel like a true house wife. hihihi I also had the congenital anomaly scan for my baby and we now know the gender!! Yay!! I will be doing a mommy series on this blog. I have lots of questions and have been doing research ng bongga. So this will be a beauty/mommy blog na!! Yay!!! Pero of course, more of beauty pa rin. Anyways, I do not have a stable internet connection because I am only using my mobile data as hotspot.

Anyways, enough of my chika,  I am very much into cushion bb and/or makeup. I have been using cushion bb as base for almost 2 weeks now and it has made base makeup application easier and more hygienic. Plus, I do not need any brushes anymore to apply my base makeup because the sponge that came with these cushion bbs/foundations apply product very nicely.

Before going to the review, let me give you a background on my skin condition: I have a yellow medium skin tone. In MAC, my shade is NC30. I have an acidic skin, thus, I usually purchase foundations or powder that are one shade lighter than my skin color. I have super dry and sensitive skin. Due to preganancy, my psoriasis flare ups got worse. I have psoriasis patches on my forehead and in between my brows and on the brow area.

For this post I will be reviewing one of the newest BB Cushion of Etude House. Etude House gave me a shopping spree for blog review purposes and I knew I had to get cushion products. I first saw this from Morgan of the Beauty Breakdown. I chanced upon her when I was looking for cushion reviews in youtube because I was planning to buy the Maybelline Cushion BB. Morgan is like the cushion bb queen in youtube!!! Haha She has tried a lot of brands and she is super duper pretty. She does remind me alot of Jes Roque. :) If you are looking for Cushion reviews, her videos are very helpful. Morgan featured this product and I was thrilled when I saw this product at Etude House a week after she featured it! This Cushion BB literally killed my lemming for the Maybelline BB Cushion. I also got the AC Clean Up Cushion which I will be featuring on another blog post.
Etude House Real Powder Cushion

Firstly, I really like the rose gold packaging. It looks so posh and elegant. The Spong that came with it has a nude/peach shade compared to the usual blue cushion sponge of Etude House. The compact of this Cushion BB is slim as compared to the usual bulky cushion bb/foundation in the market. Due to this, I immediately checked the weight and found out that it is only 14 grams as compared to my 15 grams Any Cushion and April Skin BB Cushion. I also noticed that the inner flap cover that holds the sponge and covers the cushion itself has tiny clickers around it securing the flap unto the compact very well. This prevents the cushion from drying too fast. I do notice that my first any cushion from Etude House does not have this kind of lock function hence, it dried up easily. The mirror is also big enough. The sponge that came with felt more fluffier and smoother as compared to the more rubbery texture of the any cushion sponge. The label does not only mention of the product's shelf life but it did mention the expiration date which is very useful.
Etude House Real Powder Cushion
Let's move on to the product itself, this newest bb cushion from Etude House promises liquid foundation to matte powder finish.  It offers a high physical sunscreen of SPF50+ PA+++ . It has a subtle sweet fragrant scent which I cannot describe. When I first swatched this product at the Etude House counters, I blown away with its coverage, pigmentation and texture. This has a a velvety matte feel and dries immediately to a powder finish. I knew that this cushion bb may not work for my super dry and troubled skin but I still gave it a shot.
Etude House Real Powder Cushion
There are three shades availabel: Light Beige, Natural Beige and Honey Beige (pls correct me if I am wrong). I did not get the Honey Beige, although being the darkest amongst the three, this shade somehow looked light on my skin and appears a bit pinkish. The shade Natural Beige is one shade lighter than my skin (NC30) but since I am acidic, the shade somehow blends with my skin giving a brightening effect. I love how this cushion bb applies smoothly and covers my redness instantly with just one layer. I just need to tap the product on my face faster than usual because this product sets very fast. I also need to use a much heavier moisturizer to make the product work for my dry skin. This cushion keeps my face mattified throughout the day but I do notice cakey build up on the sides of my nose and chin area. Compared to other bb cushion, I prefer a thin single  layer of this product as opposed to piling up  two layers because this product cakes easily. The coverage of this bb cushion is medium and can cover up my redness except for the inflamed psoriasis flare ups.

Here is a photo of my face with psoriasis flare ups on my forehead. You will notice that Natural Beige cushion on my lower cheek has a yellow tone and it lighter than my skin color.
After one layer of the Cushion BB. It somehow covered my dark circles but the product clung on to the dry patches on my face.
Before and after using Etude House BB Cushion.
Overall, this Cushion BB is a nice compact base makeup that has awesome coverage and mattifying power. Sadly, it does not work on the dry areas of my face especially my forehead but looks great on other parts of my face particularly my cheek area. I would probably use this more on hot humid days.

This product costs 1039 pesos at Etude House counters.

Back 2 Back: Etude House AC Clean Up Mild BB Cushion Review

Etude House AC Clean Up Mild BB Cushion
I did not know that Etude House has a new cushion other than the Real Powder variant. I grab this immediately but I did not have high hopes on this one because the AC line is meant for those with acne and troubled skin which is obviously not my skin type. I got it anyway because I am really into cushion bb/foundation.

What Etude House claims:
1. Chemical free inorganic formula with an effective cover effect.
2. It controls the skin balance with 60% of skin soothing and moisturizing Teatree, Madecassoside, Salicylic acid contents.
3. It naturally covers a sensitive skin without irritation or causing a trouble.

Just like the Real Powder Cushion, this is housed in a slim compact and weighs 14 grams. Compared to the bulky casing of other cushions, this is really more lightweight and is space saving in my kikay kit. It also has that click/snap on lid that has lock function preventing the cushion from drying up.  It has a mint green color colored compact which looks really clean. The sponge that came with it is fluffy and smoother compared to the rubbery blue cushion sponge of other cushion bb products of Etude House. It comes in three shades: Light Beige, Natural Beige and Honey Beige. Just like my Real Powder, I got this in the shade Natural Beige which has a yellow tone. Natural Beige is a shade lighter than my skin tone but since it has yellow undertones, it blends well my skin color and gives off a brightening effect.
Etude House AC Clean Up Mild BB Cushion
Upon opening the lid of this cushion, I instantly noticed the fresh and clean green tea scent (parang green tea ahh I am not really good at describing scent.. ). I love the scent so much.
Etude House AC Clean Up Mild BB Cushion
The cushion bb itself has a far different texture compared to the Real Powder. This Ac Clean Up has a light and watery texture. It feels very hydrating but does not feel heavy or too moisturizing at all. It has a light to semi medium coverage and it blends smoothly too. It has a bit of cooling effect when applied.
Etude House AC Clean Up Mild BB Cushion
To my surprise, I am so in love with this cushion!!!!!! I was not expecting that I will love this more than the Real Powder variant. I find myself reaching for this compact everytime I go out of the house. This has a nice pigmentation and can cover some discolorations. It can also tone down the redness of my rashes. I do need to conceal my undereyes and some of my prominent rashes and discolorations. What I love about this is that this feels so light on the skin yet it delivers a decent coverage and natural finish! I can also layer the product without fear of caking or product build up. I love the fact that it has a high physical sunscreen of SPF 50+ PA+++.

Due to the hydrating properties of this BB Cream, this does not cling on the dry patches on my face. I also notice how refreshing this cushion bb feels when worn. (Or guni guni ko lang ito!!) This does not make my skin look greasy nor oily by mid day. This Cushion BB has a natural finish which is great for everyday wear.
Overall, I am in love with this cushion. I did not expect that I will really like a product that is meant for acne prone skin. This BB Cushion feels light and refreshing on the skin and is perfect for everyday wear. It delivers a nice coverage and did not irritate my skin. Its hydrating properties makes this cushion perfect for my dry skin. I highly recommend this to all of my readers looking for a nice everyday BB Cushion especially for those with acne prone or normal to combination skin type.
This Cushion retails for 1039 pesos.

What BB Cushion have you tried?

Makeup Look using Affordable and Locally Available Beauty Products (Products Worth 150 Pesos and Below)

Sa wakas may internet na kami!!!After weeks of waiting, PLDT finally installed the internet in our new home. Ang tagal kong nag antay ah!!! So much for their advertisement na 3-5 days installation upon submission of complete requirements. I waited for a month! Anyways, enough of my rant.

I have been meaning to blog about local and affordable finds again beceause I have always believed that there are gems in the drugstore. So I thought of creating a makeup look using products worth 150 pesos and below. I searched for 150 peso products that looked promising and would work for my skin. Without further ado, here are the products that I got plus their my mini reviews on each of them.

Iwhite Korea BB Holic BB cream - For my base, I used this 24.50 pesos bb cream. Made a review on this before. Click the link for my detailed review -- http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2016/07/iwhite-bb-holic-everyday-bb-cream.html
Nichido Pressed Powder in Tan (100 pesos) - Initially, I wanted to use the Nichido Loose Setting Powder for this blog post but I remember Michelle Dy used this product in one of her videos. When I swatched this powder at the Nichido Counter, I was amazed with the pigmentation and coverage. Also, the shade Tan  was a perfect match for my skintone (or so I thought it was). The shade Tan has a peachy beige tone which looks a tad bit lighter for my medium yellow skin tone.  It came with a very (take note) puff which I threw immediately. This powder has a familiar makeup scent from old makeup (yung tipong chinchunsu and mena ). This blends well with a sponge and mattifies my face very well. However, I do noticed that it made my skin looked very powdery and dry. I t also caked on the sides of my nose and dry areas of my face. For 100 pesos, what more can you ask for?
Ever Bilena Liquid Concealer (140 pesos) - This is one ne of the newest products from Ever Bilena that I really wanted to try. Aside from the fact that I am concealer and foundation addict, this baby looks promising for only a 140 pesos tag price. This came in two shades light and medium. Light is a light beige shade with slight yellow tones. This came in a plastic tube with a doe foot applicator. The coverage looks nice when swatched at the back of my hand. It seemed buildable but the story changes when I applied it on my under eyes. It can not cover my dark circles at all and adding layers upon layer does not seem to work. This has a dewy finish but does not settles on my fine lines. What I did was I applied concealer then set it off with the Nichido Pressed powder then I once again applied this concealer then set it again with the powder to achieve my desired coverage. Good thing no cakiness happened because this concealer is light and blendable.
Ever Bilena Concealer in Light and Nichido Pressed Powder in Tan
Sansan Eyebrow Duo Powder (150 pesos) - It has been years since I have visited HBC and I was very glad to see new products especially this brow powder at their store. I am not a fan of the shades which looked scary dark on the pan. It has rich chocolate brown and a very dark almost brown black shade. It came with an angled brush which feels very stiff. This brow duo is powdery but very pigmented. I have no expectations on this product at all. I just bought this just for the sake of trying it and for blog purposes. Lo and behold, I love this brow duo!!!!!! Akalain niyo yun!!! This brow powder is very long lasting!! Take note. The longevity of this brow product is awesome and lasts all day on my without need for touch ups. The color is buildable. Also, I can lighten the of this powders with the use of a spoolie and a light hand. It gives my sparse brows an illusion of thickness and fullness. I love applying it with a use of a wet angled brush. I also use this to fill in the gaps on my brows whenever I use tint or pencils for outline.
Swatch of the San San Brow Duo Powder
San San Waterproof Eyeliner (105 Pesos) - Without even testing this product, I immediately grabbed it and paid it at the counter because it only costs 105 pesos. The color pay off is very nice. It is a jet black shade with a glossy finish. It applies seamlessly and does not tug my lids. It is long lasting (almost whole day on my lids but take note I have dry skin) and does not turn gray at the end of the day. Sadly, this is not waterproof as it claimed it be. I have tried applying a winged liner look with this product and ended up with smudged liner on the outer corner of my eyes.

Shawill 5 Colors Eyeshadow Palette - (140 pesos) I first heard this product from Gem of rarevanity.net. She told me that this product has a great color pigmentation and has a very affordable price. True enough, the colors in this palette are very nice. I wanted to compare it with the Naked 1 palette but the colors did not match. I must say that this palette has a comparable gradient and shimmery pay off with the Naked Palette but this needs a lot of blending and has more fall outs. On the lids, it applies and blends well on its own even without any primer.
Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara (149 pesos) I got this on sale for 149 pesos only. It is originally priced at 199 pesos. I forgot to take photos but I will soon be blogging about it separately. This mascara is one of the most affordable in the market. This is probably one of my most favorite Maybelline Mascara. This lenghtens and volumizes my lashes really well. The formula is not too wet and the mascara brush is one of the classic brushes that I love.

Etude House Styling Eyeliner (148 pesos)- In one of my trips to the Etude House Store, I saw this affordable and retractable liners. It was love at first swatch. This pencil is creamy and delivers a rich color on the skin. It looks like a gel liner because of its pigmentation. The shade black is a true black and brown shade is one of the most perfect brown liners with rich brown tint. Sadly, this are not waterproof and smudgeproof. I love using the shade brown on my lower lash line to open up my eyes.

Silky Girl Moisture Rich Lipstick (89 pesos)  I got this on sale for 50% off. I apologize I could not mentioned the shade color of this lipstick because I lost the lipstick. This lipstick looks like my lips but better with a lot of sheen. I did not like it at all because I find the texture too shiny and slippery on the lips.I used this lipstick on this post. I will post the shade once I find the missing lipstick (waah).

San San Lip Crayon in Power Plum (165 pesos) - I got this lipstick first and remembered that I plan to do a post featuring 150 pesos products and below. So, I will just be posting this para hindi naman sayang ang effort ko finding this product. I wanted the other shades available that neutral one but sadly, oos in all three HBC stores I went. I have heard a lot of raves from different bloggers about this lip crayon. This is a matte lipstick and has gives off a very opaque finish upon application. One layer is enough to create a full lip color. I have not yet tried this long enough to review its longevity and if its drying on the lips.
Silky Girl and San San Swatches

Essence Silky Touch Blush -(100 pesos) Again, I bought this on sale. This is originally priced for 199 pesos. This is one of my best buys for this year so far. I used my favorite shade Natural Beauty, full review here: http://www.mylucidintervals.com/2016/05/essence-silky-touch-blush-review-and.html

Here is my before and after using affordable makeup! Halata bang tig 150 pesos or less lang ang gamit?
*** I have Psoriasis flare ups on my forehead due to pregnancy. ***
For my contour (nose and cheek) and crease color, I used the San San Duo Brow Powder.
What do you think of using affordable and local beauty finds for your daily makeup? Is it a yay or nay?

What are your favorite 150 pesos or below makeup products! Kindly share your thoughts on the comments section, I would love to hear from you!

Review: April Skin Magic Snow Cushion plus Happy Birthday to AltheaPh

After my love affair with Japan Products, I am once again into Korean Beauty. Korea is the first country I have been to and God willing, my husband and I can not wait to go back to that beautiful country when we could (sana next year na ulit please!!!!hehe). Since I can not go back to Korea anytime soon because of my pregnancy, I am thrilled that Althea PH, an online shopping website carrying a wide array of Authentic Korean Beauty products. I have found a lot of new brands in this site and I could be any happier because they shipped straight from Korea at a very minimal shipping fee or free shipping on orders 1500 pesos and above. Most of the time they are offering discounts. Althea just turned 1 and they are still offering a site wide sale which all of you may be interested in. Visit their website here: http://ph.althea.kr/

Althea Korea contacted me for their birthday celebration and gave me 1500 pesos credits for shopping at their site. I got three products and I tried to stay within the budget. Here are the products I got:
I got the Bling Some lip Tint Pack which did not work on my dark lips!!!! Thankfully my two other purchases are winners that I totally forgot about the lip tint pack. The Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer smells so fresh and nice, it reminded me of my first ever BB cream from the Face Shop. It also has a nice texture for a primer. I only got it for 240 pesos. Next, I got this April Skin Magic Snow Cushion for only 650 pesos. This baby is being sold for 1500 pesos at some local online stores. If you are interested in trying out this product, it still on sale on Althea's website.

For this post, I will be reviewing the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion. I have been seeing this product a lot of times in facebook ads. I have never heard of April Skin before and I have not seen their stores in Korea.
April Skin Magic Snow Cushion is housed in bulky black packaging. Compared to Etude House's fancy packaging, this is a regular black compact. When you open the compact, the cushion sponge is not soaked with product compared to other cushions that I have seen. I have to pressed on to the compact to release the product. It also has that curve cushion appearing to be bulky and concae as compared to other cushions that are flat on the surface. I thought that feature gave the product additional product weight but April Skin said that it has two cushions overlapping each other to prevent the moisture from evaporating and to keep the product in place. It came with a fluffy sponge which  feels light and squishy.

This cushion has a weight of 15 grams and contains SPF 50 + PA +++. It comes in three shades: Light Beige, Pink Beige and Natural Beige. I got the shade Natural Beige which is a shade lighter than my skin.

April Skin promises:
Flawless Coverage
Excellent Spreadability
Blocks UV Rays
Whitening and Anti Ageing

This cushion also contains natural extracts from Jeju Aloe Vera Leaf, Blueberry, has Vitamin C and Iceland Glacial Water.
With one press on the cushion, my finger immediately picked up alot of product from the compact. The cushion is very blendable and creamy. It does have high pigmentation and coverage. It goes on dewy on the skin and gives off a natural finish on the skin.
I find this cushion hydrating enough for my dry skin. It blends beautifully on the skin creating a very flawless canvass especially on the areas where I do not have any psoriasis flare ups. It also does a great job of smoothening my face and covering up my pores in an instant. It does cling on to the dry patches of my face and more than two layers can really make your skin look cakey. It is best applied with a patting motion minimally and with one layer only. It covers up my dark circles really well and other imperfections such as dark marks but it could not cover my red rashes. This cushion needs to be set with a matte powder to prevent it from creasing or moving around.

Despite having a high SPF of 50, this does not have a major flashback issue on photos. It looks good on photos too! I love how seamless my face looks after applying this cushion. Staying power is great. i love using it for everyday wear and it delivers excellent coverage throughout the day sans regular touch ups.
My personal tip, make sure to let the cushion dry and settle on your face before setting it with powder to prevent the product from moving around.

Overall, I really love this cushion very much!!! I can not wait to try other products from April Skin.

Have you tried shopping at Althea Korea? What are your faves?

Leaders Insolution: New Favorite Masks Perfect for Dry Skin

$

Hello!!! I am on my 26th week of pregnancy and my skin is going better compared to my first trimester. I have to say that Leaders Masks helped my skin a lot. (super life saver nitong mga masks na ito I swear) My regular use of their masks truly replenished lost moisture and elasticity on my skin. The only problem that I have to accept and deal with is the psoriasis flare ups  on my forehead. Recently, Leaders asked me to try out new variants of their masks. Out of all that I have tried, here are my favorites. I think these masks  are perfect for dry and sensitive skin.

Vital Cell Skin Seed Mask - Php 228
The Vital Cell Skin Seed Mask delivers remarkable vitality into inner skin.

"Derived from undifferentiated cells such as proteins and vitamins to promote effective phyto stem cell regeneration. Nutrition enriched protein protects cells and enhances nutrition absorption. Regeneration Seeds: Alfalfa Seed. Super nutrient-rich alfalfa plants are rich in saponins knows as chlorophyll, as well as niacin containing multi-vitamins such a beta-carotene. Skin is strengthened and energized. Antioxidants contained in the cells enhance the immune system in order to create a resistant basis for healthier skin. This mask provides high absorption to prepare the skin for other skin care and makeup."

Wrinkle Cell Skin Seed Mask - Php 228
Decrease in skin elasticity is due to a lack of amino acids. The Wrinkle Cell Mask contains Polymeric collagen that lifts the skin and smoothens wrinkles.

"Adenosine is effective in the removal of wrinkles and fine lines, and improves elasticity. The skin becomes more firm and smooth. Useful tree seeds from India with Ayurveda, Vitamin C, minerals, and 18 kinds of essential amino acids beneficial in firming. The excellent water absorption of polymer water-filled collagen smoothens the skin texture. Skin is firmed and lines are erased for vibrant skin."

Vital Cell variant is perfect for dry skin while Wrinkle Cell is best for mature skin or those plagued with fine lines and wrinkles. Both of these masks are drenched in a mucousy essence. The essence of these masks are different from the other masks of Leaders that I have tried. Aside from having that paste like appearance, the essence  seeps into the skin very well  moisturizing it deeply and thoroughly. After use, my skin feels quenched and very supple. If you have oily skin, this may be too heavy or too hydrating for your skin type.

Snail Therapy First Ampoule Mask - Php 1798

Soothe the Sensitive Skin quickly This Snail Therapy First Ampoule Mask contains snail secretion filtrate which includes mucin.
With this ingredient, this mask helps to soothe the irritated and sensitive skin.
Also with Camomile extract this mask helps to keep the skin moist through providing abundant nutrition to the skin and strenghtening the skin barriers to keep moisture Enhance Skin Absorption With cotton cellulose sheet, this mask helps to provide the essence to the dep inside of the skin by increasing skin adhesion and skin absorption of the essence.

This Ampoule Masks are housed in cute plastic test tubes which reminds me of my high school days where we would spend time inside the laboratory. Compared to other sheet masks that are flattened in sachet packaging, these masks are rolled into scrolls and soaked in essence. The mask is not too heavy compared to the Vital variants, in fact, it contains Camomile extracts that is perfect for acne prone and sensitive skin. It feels light on the skin and is very rejuvenating. Do not be fooled with its steep price of Php 1798. Actually, this ampoule mask set is very economical to use because each ampoule have enough amount of essence. Also, since the tube has a cap, I can store the excess essence and store it inside the refrigerator. The excess essence may be used for more than two to three times (for face application). The excess essence can be used on its own or underneath a moisturizer for that extra boost of hydration.
This is how the mask looks like close.
The Gold 24 Secret Mask - 248 pesos

"This gold hydrogel mask delivers intensive nourishment instantly, improves skin elasticity while keeping skin glow and supple."

This is an instant favorite. I just used it tonight before typing this post and I am blown away. This is a hydrogel mask and is a gel type mask like the Coconut Bio Masks Variant. What I love most about it is the texture itself and how it feels on top of my skin. Since it is a two piece mask, this fits my face very well and does not droop or slid down my face. The mask itself is very durable. It has that right amount of essence thus making it feel very comfortable when worn.  I did not remove any excess essence from the mask. After removing the mask, I made sure I massaged the essence on my face at least 30 seconds to a minute. I made an IG story showing how my skin looked like after using this mask and I really love it. My skin got an instant glow and feels moisturized.

This is how the mask looks like when worn. The only thing I do not like is the excess sheet on the nose area which is a bit annoying.

Etude House Eyeshadow Primers featuring Proof10 Primer and Look At My Eyes Pearl Shadow Base

Years ago, (way back in 2010 or 2011?), finding a good eyeshadow primer that is light on the pocket seemed impossible. The famous UDPP (as makeup bloggers call back in the days) or what we know as Urban Decay Primer Potion was way above my student budget back (well hanggang ngayon naman dahil kuripot ako). I could still recall that I was trying to get my hands on the Etude House Proof 10 Primer because it was hailed as an affordable dupe of the Urban Decay Primer. I searched high and low but was not able to get my hands on it or perhaps I forgot if I have bought one before. Moving on, during my last trip to the Etude House Store, I chanced upon new stocks of the Proof 10 Primer and another Eyeshadow Base - the Look At My Eyes Pearl Eyeshadow Base.
 ETUDE HOUSE PROOF 10 PRIMER

This is one the best affordable eyeshadow primers available locally. It weighs 10 grams and it only costs 298 pesos. For the price, one may not have high hopes on this primer as it is way cheaper than the Urban Decay but the performance of this eyeshadow is amazing. It comes in plastic tear drop bottle with a doe foot applicator. It is sheer and has a subtle milky tint. Due to its consistency, it does not alter the texture or the coverage of the eyeshadow. It applies beautifully on bare lids and takes a good amount of time to dry. However, if applied on lids with makeup (liquid foundation and powder), this have a tendency to dry too quickly and I experienced difficulty in blending the product. I make sure to apply less product on the lid or none at all to make this primer work its wonders on my lids. This technique will also lessen any appearance of streakiness. This primer works well on both matte and shimmery shades. This makes my eyeshadows look more vibrant especially matte eyeshadows.
The doe foot applicator does not pick up too much product so I had to dip it twice to get an ample amount.  I just hope Etude House releases this primer in a squeeze tube packaging.
The consistency is sheer and the colour is milky. The colour is almost transparent when blended on the lids. The primer is not too sticky and it reminds me of the UDPP but this is thinner in texture.
It does make eyeshadows looks more vibrant and deeper than their actual color.

This primer prevents my eyeshadow from creasing and makes it last the whole day!!!! Whenever I use this primer, my eyeshadow does not fade throughout the day. It claims to be waterproof but I have not road tested it in such a condition to be able to say that it is waterproof. I love the fact that it can even make my pencil liner stay in place on the lower lash line.

Another product that I have discovered from Etude House is this Look At My Eye Pear Eyeshadow Base.  This costs 278 pesos and looks similar in packaging like the Etude House  Single Eyeshadows.
This is a cream base and goes really smooth on the lids. It has a pearly and luminous colour. It looks  whitish champagne on my lids. It made my eyeshadows pop and made the colours look more vibrant. I find that it works better with shimmery shadows. This does not work for oily lids and those with such skin type may find this greasy. This made my eyeshadow crease a bit but since I had super dry skin this worked very well on me. It made my eyeshadow last for 4-5 hours. I also love how it made my shimmery shadows look extra glam. I find this easier to apply than the Proof 10 primer because it is a cream base. I usually use this when I am in a hurry because I just use my fingers to apply and blend this base and the shimmery eyeshadow of my choice.
This is how the eyeshadows look like using with the pearl shadow base.

Overall, I am definitely repurchasing both products especially the proof 10 Primer because it makes my eyeshadow lasts the whole day.

What is your favorite eyeshadow primer?

Review: Tony Moly Panda's Dream Contour Stick and Lip Crayon

If you are following me on Instagram, you would have probably seen me wearing a panda suit during the Tony Moly Panda's Dream Event. I am super happy kasya pa ako sa suit hahaha I was so thrilled to invited at the Tony Moly Launch for Panda's Dream Collection. I have not tried new products from this brand for some time now. We were given press kits which included some of the products from the Panda's Dream Collection. For this blog post, I will be focusing on two products that I am currently using.

Tony Moly just joined the highlighter and contour stick bandwagon. This is the Panda's Dream Contour stick which retails for Php 578. It comes in three shades 01 for highlighting, 02 for concealing and 03 for contouring. I got shades #1 and #3. These sticks have a very creamy texture and blends very nicely on the skin. It does not tug nor appears streaky when applied. I love how it blends smoothly and seamlessly on clean skin and even on top of powdered skin. The shades of these sticks may bee to light for Filipinas with darker skintone.
No. 1 is a light almost whitish beige on my NC30 skin. This is very light in coverage and works as a great highlighter. For the undereyes, it works well with my other cream and liquid concealers to highlight my undereyes. This is great for highlighting the nose bridge and as well as the brow bone to make brows look appear sleek and clean.  No. 3 looks a shade darker than my skin tone and I was really afraid that it would not as a contour stick for me. On the photo below, take note that I used a cushion foundation as a base that is why the contour stick showed up on my skin. This contour stick has a great neutral tone and looks really natural when blended. No.3 seems to have a heavier coverage as compared to No. 1.
For the contour stick, I love using it as a base for my powder contour and it makes the staying power of my contour and bronzer last longer. I also like using it on top of my finished base (liquid base plus powder) to make the shade appear deeper on my skin tone. I mix both No. 1 and No.2 to create a perfect concealer shade that is suitable for my skin tone.
The second product that I am currently using from this collection is their Lip Crayon. I did not hesitate opening these lip crayons despite having loads of lipstick in my stash because I was looking for a glossy balm/stain that is long lasting on the lips for everyday wear. True enough, this lip crayons from Tony Moly did not let me down.

This has 5 shades to choose from : 1 Hey Orange, 2 Heart Pink, 3 Pink Lady, 4 Red Berry, 5 True Red. This lip crayon retails for Php548. I got the shade NO. 4 and No.5 On the tube, they look so similar but both shades have different undertones.
 No. 4 and No. 5

This lip crayon has subtle glossy finish. It is very pigmented and I can use it even without any lip liner. This does not emphasize my dry patches and fine lines. It goes on sheer with first swipe but the color is very buildable to almost a glossy lipstick finish. I can also mattify this lip color to make it appear like tint on my lips by spreading the product it with the use of my fingers. It is long lasting and does not dry up my lips. I find this lip crayon a bit hydrating and they are very comfortable to wear despite its glossy finish. It can lasts 3-4 hrs on me sans eating.
No. 4 is a warm red with orange tones

No. 5 is a true neutral red which is darker than No. 4

I really like these products from the newest collection of Tony Moly. Aside from being extra cute because of the Panda packaging, these products worked very well on me.I love particularly love teh contour stick as a cream contour base for my powder.

Have you heard about Tony Moly Panda's Dream Collection?

Maybelline x Calyxta Contour Jungle: Contouring Made Easy (Review of Face Studio V-Face Products plus Swatches)

The makeup technique craze popularized by Kim Kardashian and the rest of the youtube community has become a phenomenon in the beauty industry. Almost everyone I knew (even those not really into makeup that much), wants to learn how to contour (at siyempre magkilay!). Maybelline recently released the newest collection the V-FACE By Face Studio Line consisting of Duo Stick highlighter and contour, Duo Powder highlighter and bronzer and Blush Contour. I was invited by Calyxta to the Maybelline Contour Jungle Event. Aside from learning how to use their newest products, they gave me products to play with as well.
Maybelline V Face Duo Stick
Maybelline V-Face Duo Stick
Price: 499
I was particularly interested with this duo stick. I was excited because this is a two in one product and such fact makes it very travel friendly. I thought that the highlighter part was a matte shade like the US version and during the event I found out that it is a strobe and contour duo. This is a retractable bullet and both sticks look like lipstick bullets on the tube. The slanted or lipstick point promises precise application on contour and highlight points of the face. The packaging is light and looks quite sturdy. The cap of both ends of the sticks are clear for easy recognition of the products. The slanted line on the design of the tube packaging also show which side is which.
Maybelline V Face Duo Stick
The shade I got was in the shade Medium. I love the highlighter shade. It is a light champagne shade that suits my yellow skin tone very well. On the other hand, I am on the fence on the contour stick. The shade is too warm and orangey for my skin tone and it looks more of a bronzer than a contour on my skin. The consistency of both shades are creamy and blendable. The shape of the stick makes contouring and highlighting more precise and easier especially on the nose area. Despite having that sheen or glowing finish, the highlighter stick does not have any gritty shimmers. This duo stick must be set with powder to lengthen their staying power. I am in love with the highlighting stick more than the contour stick. I really thought that I would be reaching for the contour stick more but to its orangey tone, I just use it as a bronzer underneath my contour powder. The highlighting stick is really beautiful esepcially for highlighting the brow bone. It makes my brows look extra sharp and on fleek.
Maybelline V Face Duo Powder
Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Duo Powder
Price: 499 pesos
This is a duo powder compact that promises subtle contouring and highlighting. The powder is smooth and finely milled. The highlighting powder is a shade lighter than my skin tone and has hints of shimmers that are unnoticeable. The highlighting powder is actually very good. It applies beautifully underneath my eyes and nose bridge. This highlighting powder made my skin look brighter. I really love how it looks on photos. The contour powder is a shade darker than my skin tone. True enough, this is for subtle contouring only.
Maybelline V Face Duo Powder
I find the product very powdery. Also, because of its irregular shape, picking up the colors on the pan is very challenging, thus using a thin or smaller brush is suggested. For the highlighter, I love applying it with the use of a powder sponge to achieve maximum coverage especially on the under eyes.
Maybelline V Face Duo Powder
Swatches of the shade Medium Dark

NOTE: The duo stick and duo powder go very well together. When used together. the colors matched my skin very well and creates a very natural contour and highlight on my skin. When used together, the contour stick and powder looks so beautiful on my skin.
Maybelline V Face Blush Contour
Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Contour Blush
Price: 399 pesos
I got the shade Wine which is a beautiful combination of Light pink, Mauvey Rose Shade Blush and a warm light brown contour powder. I love the color of this product when mixed all together. The color it creates is a warm rosey pink that looks really nice and glowing on my medium yellow skin tone.
Maybelline V Face Blush Contour

Photos of the product when applied on the face
Contour Stick looks orangey and light. It works as a bronzer for me.
Using the Duo Stick and Duo Powder together
Both products complement each other very well. The contour stick and powder looked great on my skin when used together.
Look how nice the highighting stick look on my brow bone and nose bridge. I used the Highlighter powder on my undereyes.

Using all the Face Studio V-Face Product on this picture.
For the blush, I swirled all three shades to achieve such color on my cheeks.

All Face Studio V-Face Products are currently on sale with 100 pesos off at selected department stores.

Canmake Airy Cover Fit Foundation: The Lightest Powder Foundation I Have Ever Tried

$

Before going to the review, let me give you a background on my skin condition: I have a yellow medium skin tone. In MAC, my shade is NC30. I have an acidic skin, thus, I usually purchase foundations or powder that are one shade lighter than my skin color. I have super dry and sensitive skin. Due to preganancy, my psoriasis flare ups got worse. I have psoriasis patches on my forehead,in between my brows and brows.

Note: I got this product at an event but my review is my 100% honest opinion regarding my experience with the product.

One of the brands that I really think should deserve more buzz in the PH beauty market is Canmake. Canmake is a Japanese brand and their products look so kawaii. I have learned about Canmake years ago through a Japanese Blogger.  From then on, I have been meaning to try out their products and luckily this brand reached PH shores years ago. I am a fan of their Shading Powder, Liquid Liner and Glow Fleur Cheeks. They recently launched their Airy Cover Fit Foundation. Siyempre pag launch ng funda, go ako diyan. haha In case you still have not figure it out, I love my bases so much. Adik ako sa concealer and foundation. I think I will never outgrew them and these base makeup products come first on my to try out list.
Canmake said that this foundation is airlike and is very lightweight. Of course, I did not believe their marketing because I have heard a lot of brands market their powder in this way but the reality was different. When I tried this powder foundation, I was amazed!!! It truly is Airy and very lightweight.

What Canmake says about this foundation:
A foundation like air
So light, you'll forget you're wearing it
● Gently covers your skin in an ultrafine veil of powder that's lighter than air. Provides superb coverage, for a finish that's soft and natural, not thick and heavy.
Smooth, mousse-like texture
● Formulation designed to melt like a mousse, for a velvety-smooth texture. Contains a highly flexible powder that quickly and evenly blends into your skin to provide a flawless finish.
● The velvety-smooth powder provides a dewy finish, without looking powdery.
● Shine-preventing powder is resistant to sweat and water, keeping your make-up in place and your skin looking as smooth as silk.
● Soft-focus powder provides complete coverage for pores and uneven color.
Contains beautifying and moisturizing agents
Royal jelly extract, aloe vera leaf extract, hyaluronic acid, ginseng root extract, squalane (from olives)
Carefully selected sponge
● Comes with a smooth-fit sponge that clings to your skin and helps to blend the make-up evenly. Ensures a flawless and natural finish.
This is powder comes in a white case packaging. It has two shades Light Ochre and Natural Ochre. I got the shade Natural Ochre which is a shade lighter than my skin tone. I was hoping there was a third shade but the Natural Ochre looks perfectly fine on my skin after contouring and bronzing. This powder has got to be the most finely milled powder foundation I have ever tried. It goes on velvety and smooth on the skin. It also feels so light and true enough it does not feel anything on the face. As in parang wala lang. I can highly recommend this powder to ladies who does not like that heavy powder feel. When worn, this foundation does not look powdery on the skin. It feels like butter melting/blending well on the  skin. It does cling on to my dry patches but does not overly emphasize them. Despite it lightweight feel, this delivers an awesome coverage cancelling out redness and even covering my under eye circles very well. This also covers up my pores and makes my skin look seamless. I love the sponge that came with it because it feels puffy and squishy compared to other powder sponges that has a rubbery feel.
This powder looks spectacular on the on the skin and feels awesome when worn!!!!
It has SPF 45 PA ++. I have not yet tried testing this with flashback on flash photography. This powder did not irritate my skin.
With Canmake Powder/ Without Powder
In this photo, I did not use any moisturizer of base makeup. Look how seamless and poreless my skin looks. It also covered up my dark circles.

Sadly, this powder is quite steep for 1140 pesos (powder plus case). I hope Canmake sells refills for this foundation because it is really nice. Overall, I really like this powder except for the high price and the lack of wide color selection. Natural Ochre looks light on me but it works well with my skintone because it has yellow undertones.

Get That 90's Look with Maybelline Creamy Mattes Brown Nudes

I have been experiencing internet problems lately, hence, the lack of blog updates. I have been trying to blog for the last week but my attempts to be productive have gone to waste because PLDT service is obviously one of the worst. Okay enough of my rant.

One of my favorite lipstick formula is the Maybelline Creamy Matte. I got my very first tube last year way before it was launched here in MNL. I probably included Touch of Spice in my 2015 Hit List. Maybelline recenty launched the newest shades of Creamy Mattes in Brown Nudes. This is a much anticipated color range from the Creamy Mattes Line since the 90s lip color are back in the beauty scene. The Creamy Mattes Brown Nudes comes in 5 beautiful shades that are wearable from daytime to night time. Before Maybelline sent me the whole line for review, I already purchased Nude Nuance and Burgundy Blush during the sale of Watsons where I got each lippy for 199 pesos instead of its normal price of 299 pesos.

Review:
These lipsticks are creamy as the name suggests but has that lightweight feel. It goes on butteryand velvety as it glides on the lips. It has a thick consistency and the pigmentation is great. The color pay off is very opaque except for the lighter shades that needs three layers to show up on my dark lips. Compared to other matte lipsticks in the market, these creamy mattes are very comfortable to wear. My lips do not feel dry at all. It wears very well for hours and does not feel drying when worn. It does not give me crack lips too at the end of the day. This does not bleed nor migrate outside the lip lines even sans a lip liner. The colors look full even after several hours of wear and its color intensity does not wear off or fade.

These lipsticks have a strong sweet scent. When I first got my Touch of Spice a year ago, I was not bothered with its scent. However, now that I am pregnant, the scent just bothers me because I find it very strong. The scent eventually goes away after application.

Shade Description:

Nude Embrace: This is a true nude perfect when paired with smokey eyes. It goes on brownish beige on me with a slightest hint of warmth, that explains why the shade looks wearable on my yellow skin tone.  This shade needs a bit of work on my lips. It is not as pigmented as the darker shades.

Daringly Nude: This is a dainty peachy shade. I have high expectations on this shade because the color is beautiful but this particular color looks patchy on me. This shade in particular (as shown in my lip swatches) looks very uneven on my lips and does  highlight my lip lines and dryness. I could not get the opacity that I want despite three layers of application.

Clay Crush: This is one of my favorite shades in the range. I did not expect that it would look good on me and it is a color I would probably wear on a daily basis to hearings and meetings because of its subdued natural hue. This has a gorgeous semi matte finish and goes on a medium peachy brown on my lips. I need not apply any lip liner to cover up my dark lip lines.

Nude Nuance: This is another favorite in the line. It is a medium dark brown with reddish terracotta undertones. (ang hirap idescribe ah!!!!) This color is looks so beautiful on my lips and compliments my medium skintone very well.

Burgundy Blush: This is a vampy reddish burgundy shade. It very pigmented but I have a hard time evening the color on the lips to prevent patchiness. It works well with a lip liner to ensure that it will not bleed on the outer lines.

I recreated the 90s look using the Maybelline Creamy Mattes and here are some of the photos:
Loving Nude Nuance on my lips.

Have you tried the Maybelline Creamy Mattes line? What are your faves?

Review: Sleek Matte Me Ultra Smooth Matte lip Cream

Sleek PH sent me three shade of their Matte Me Ultra Smooth Matte Lip Cream. I have beeb hearing a lot of buzz about this liquid lipsticks especially on the shade Birthday Suit. This costs 450 pesos and can be purchased at leading Department Stores such as SM.

When Sleek emailed me that they will be sending me products, I was wishing they would send all the six new shades of the Matte Me line. (Ang taas ng pangarap so umasa ako!! Ang sakit I only got three!! Char!!Its okay hindi naman ako choosy basta makeup kahit ilan pa yan tatanggapin ko. Yes ang kapal ko lang!!) The shades I got are Birthday Suit, Velvet Slipper and Vino Tinto.
Birthday Suit has a straight sponge applicator while the two new shades have have a very nice doe foot applicator. The doe foot applicator of the newer shades is small enought for easy and precise application of the product.

These lip creams do not have a chemical or paint scent. They did not sting my lips nor irritated it. These lip creams have a great color pay off. One swipe can instantly give my lips a full solid color even the lightest shade, Birthday Suit.

On the tube, it is vibrant and glossy but dries to a super matte finish devoid of any lustre whatsoever. This is completely transfer and budge proof. It lasts for hours even for a day but immediately gets dissolved when my lips comes in contact with oily food. It is quite unforgiving for dry lips. It gives my lips patches and flakes at the end of the day.  I also noticed that this lip cream emphasizes my lip lines.

To avoid dryness and patchiness, using a balm underneath the lip cream is very much advisable.

From Left to Right: Birthday Suit, Velvet Slipper, Vino Tinto
From Left to Right: Birthday Suit, Velvet Slipper, Vino Tinto

Birthday Suit: This looks way lighter than on me as I imagined the color would be. This is light peachy pink shade

Velvet Slipper: This is a very beautiful shade that goes on a muted deep plum on my lips with hints of mauve hues. This would probably look good on any skintone.

Vino Tinto: This is a rich oxblood berry shade.

These three colors apply smoothly and glides easily on the lips. I highly recommend to apply only one to two layers of these lip creams to prevent uneven and patchy application.

Have you tried the Sleek Matte me Lip creams? What is your all time favorite liquid lipstick?

Review: W7 The Cheeky Trio and W7 HD Foundation

I love trying out new makeup brands particularly those that are not very popular here in MNL. Zarah, owner of mustlovemakeup_ph on instagram contacted me via email if I would be willing to try W7 products. (Of course, hihindi ba ako?) W7 is a UK brand that is popular for their products that are dupes for high end brands. But wait there's more, they also have a lot of products that are quite innovative and are valued at a very affordable price. You can check out their products here: https://www.w7cosmetics.co.uk

I utterly delighted when I saw the Cheeky Trio as part of the package sent to me. I was drawn to the pink metal packaging and the products looked amazing on the pan. This contains a bronzer, blush and a highlighter.

Dream Machine ( Bronzer)- This is way lighter for a bronzer on my medium yellow skintone. At the back of my hand, the color does not show up but on my cheeks, this is a gorgeous muted light brown with peach tones and golden sheen. On the pan, it looks like it has gold specks but does not really show up on the skin when applied.

5th Avenue (Blush) This is a bright matte coral pink. I love how smooth and pigmented this blush is.

Hot Stuff (Highlighter) This is an ivory highlighter with a light champagne sheen.

All three shades apply seamlessly on the skin sans any gritty feel. They adhere really when on the skin and blends on the skin like a dream especially the blush. As for its staying power, each product lasts up to 3 hrs sans retouching.

Dream Machine/5th Avenue/Hot Stuff
On this photo, I used Dream Machine and 5th Avenue. I am having issues with my new lighting because the unit where we moved does not have natural lighting :(
Another product sent to me is the W7 HD Foundation. I got the shade natural beige. There aren't many reviews on this product so I just tried my luck in searching for my match. Natural Beige is a light beige shade with very slight hints of pink tones.
It is housed in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser.
The coverage is light to medium and gives off a natural finish.
Coverage wise, it does even out my skin tone and can slightly cancel out my redness and under eye circles. It has a creamy consistency and blends incredibly well on my dry skin. It does not highlight my dry patches that much.It also feels lightweight and works well as a good everyday foundation. I set it with my powder foundation and it stays for hours on my skin.

Excited for w7 to be available in local beauty counters soon.

You can check out and order w7 products at mustlovemakeup_ph in Instagram

Yves Rocher Hair Care featuring Rinsing Vinegar, Hair Repair Oil and Low Shampoo

These Yves Rocher hair care products came just in time when I was a bit wary on the products I am using on my skin and scalp due to pregnancy. In case you did not know, Yves Rocher is a French brand that is available in MNL in some malls like Trinoma. This brand is an underrated one and I feel like more beauty and skin care enthusiasts should get to know this brand more because Yves Rocher has a lot of innovative botanical beauty care that focuses on natural and organic ingredients.

Yves Rocher Low Shampoo Delicate Cleansing Cream

This has a sulfate free and silicon free formula developed for all hair types. This is housed in a squeezy tube. It feels like body cream or a conditioner when applied on the scalp and hair. It has a sort fo addicting sweet whit floral scent. Unlike normal shampoos with silicone, this does not lather or sud which is quite confusing on my part. Hence, I used a lot of the product more tha. I should and  eventually finished the tube in two weeks time. I just realized that this shampoo will not lather at all because it is silicone and sulfate free after finishing the whole tube.
This feels light on the hair and does not leave my scalp dry nor greasy. It also doubles as a light conditioner on me. At the end of the day, I still prefer shampoo that lathers up on my scalp because I am after that squeaky clean feel.
Yves Rocher Hair Repair Shampoo
Repair your hair
Silicone free formula for lighter hair
Your hair is repaired

Bonus : Enriched with restorative babassu oil and macadamia oil to nourish the scalp. This oil offers truly exceptional care.

The Secret of Botanicals : JOJOBA
Sometimes called desert gold, jojoba is stunningly rich

I have not yet tried this particular product but the ingredients on this makes it really promising.
Yves Rocher Rinsing Vinegar

This product is a rediscovery. I have tried this years ago and it was an okay product for me but now I am completely in live with it. Just a quick kwento, last two weeks ago, I woke up with a greasy scalp and hair. It looked so gross  that I ended up blaiming my husband because I presumed that he used my brush for his hair coupled with his use of hair wax. I tried shampooing my hair two to three times per day but the greasiness does not seem to go away. It was quiye frustrating then I saw this product again and decided to use it. Lo and behold, it completely removed all the gunk on my hair which probably caused by hormones and pregnany after two to three usages. This has a very sweet raspberry/candy scent. It made my hair softer, bouncier and removed all the greasiness. I used this after shampoo and this is my second to last rinse. I pour the product all over my hair focusing on the ends and scalp. I massaged it gently then after a few minutes I rinse it thoroughly. The sweet scent stays on my hair for hours!! I will definitely be repurchasing as I may be needing this after my post labor soon.

Have you tried hair care products from Yves Rocher?

What are your favorite hair care products as of the moment?

What's New: Bohktoh Lashes, Lash Adhesive, Mythe Nail Polish Remover and Nippon Dome 6 Face Brush

As a professional makeup artist (on the side, paminsan minsan pag may raket yah know), one of my favorite stores/brands is Nippon Esthetic Solutions. From beauty and hygiene tools, they now carry cosmetics and other brands.

One of the brands, Nippon carries is this Thai lash brand, Bohktoh. I was sent Bohktoh lashes months before my wedding but ended up using a different lash brand for my big day. At take note pinagsisihan ko yun!! I should have used Bohktoh Lashes for my wedding!!! Anyways, I attended a workshop with NongChat and I learned a lot from him especially on lash application. I also met the owner of Bohktoh, Prang, who is a drop dead gorgeous CEO!
Bohktoh High Performance Eyelash Adhesive
Price: 550 pesos

This is a well loved makeup tool by famous Thai Mua, Nong Chat. This lash adhesive goes on neon/iridiscent white and dries into a
They recently sent me this #019 lashes that has a black malleable band that makes it very easy to mold into a curve for easy application. This has

#019 lashes when worn
Pardon the unglued inner corners, I was not able to cut the lashes well so it poked the cornee of my eyes, thus, I have to detach the inner bands.

This costs 375 pesos for 1 box containing 10 pairs of lashes.
Mythe Nail Polish Remover in Jasmine
Price: 450 pesos

"This jasmine-scented nail polish remover easily takes off laquers without the mess. Has a built-in sponge that makes removing manis quick and convenient. Just DIP & TWIST. Infused with tea tree oil and Vitamin E to nourish nails. Acetone-free. Also comes in peach scent. Suggested usage: Dip and twist nails against sponge wall until polish comes off. Close tightly after use."
I have been seeing a lot of youtubers raved about polish removers in a tub. I was very curious to have one. This is an acetone free polish removers thag has a very nice jasmine scent. Since, I am in a nail polish ban, it is my younger sister who has been using this product. She loves painting her nails and this has been very helpful. She finds it very convenient to use as she would just dip her nails on the tub and twists her nails, then viola, her nail polish is completely gone. She told me that comparsd to other nail polish remover this has a very nice scent.
Nippon Dome 6 Face Brush
Price: 600 pesos

Ever since paddle brushes took youtube by storm, I was lemming to have one of my own. But being the kuripot me, I do not want to spend thousands of pesos for a mere brush. Instead, I opted to buy a cheap alternative in Divisoria and ended up very disappointed. When Nippon sent me this brush, I was too excited to try it as I presumed that it was akin to the brush I bought in Divisoria. But I was totally wrong. This dome brush is soft on the skin and applies liquid foundation like a dream. It did not poke my skin at all even if the bristles are synthetic. The tear drop shape of the brush makes it easier to apply product on the hard to reach areas of my face like the inner corner of my eyes and sides of my nose. This brush applies the product evenly on my face giving liquid foundations  a much fuller coverage sans any streakiness and more of an airbrushed finish. The only con is that the handle of this brush feels a bit weak and flimsy.
Overall, I really love this brush and I have been using it for foundation application ever since I got it.

RAVE: Iwhite Korea Pore Purifying Balm Plus Nose and Whitening Packs (Warning: Gross Photos of Whiteheads/Blackheads)

A reader of mine asked me to share my skin care routine and favorites.  I am very hesitant to share my skin care routine or favorites because I view my skin condition as a very rare one (dry, sensitive and ridden with psoriasis). Plus the fact that I am currently pregnant, I veer away from a different products such as those that are targeted for whitening and anti ageing. I also knew a lot of my readers have combination to oily skin. Nonetheless, I will try my best to post more skincare products especially the ones that I have been trying and loving. Moving on, Iwhite Korea sent me a new package containing their products and it included their newest Pore Purifying Balm.

When I first heard about the Pore Purifying Balm, I did not know what to expect of the product until I read the flyers that came with Iwhite Korea's Package. Let me share with you the low down on what this balm is all about.

What is Iwhite Korea Pore Purifying Balm?
iWhite Korea Pore Purifying Balm is a great partner product to iWhite Korea Nose Pack & Whitening Pack as it effectively helps loosen up and absorb the stubborn pore clogging oils, dirt, and toxins present in the pores.
  • Contains Kaolin to help control oil and improve skin’s balance to fight breakouts.
  • Infused with antibacterial properties to ensure that your pores are purified after use.
  • Contains Salicylic Acid to effectively penetrate the pores and exfoliate from within making it effective in reducing breakouts, black- heads and whiteheads.
Direction for use: (when used with Nose Pack & Whitening Pack) On a cleansed face, apply a generous amount on the T-zone or on areas with enlarged pores and deep seated dirt. Leave it on for 1 minute then start massaging it in a circular motion for another 1 minute. Wipe the balm off completely with clean tissue. Apply iWhite Korea Nose Pack and/or Whitening Pack for best results in eliminating blackheads and whiteheads.
When used alone:  Before washing the face, apply a generous amount on the T-zone or areas with enlarged pores and deep seated dirt. Massage for 1-2 Minutes. Wipe off with clean tissue then wash the face.
Ingredients: Glycerin, Water, Stearic Acid, PEG-32, Myristic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Kaolin, Lauric Acid, Carica Papaya Extract, Mango Extract, Limonia Acidissima Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Oldenlandia Diffusa Extract,  Honeysuckle Extract, Butylene Glycol, Enantia Chlorantha Bark Extract, Oleanolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Beeswax, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

This Pore Purifying Balm reminds me of the blackhead steam packs of other Korean brands. It goes on like a thick and gooey milky essence. It smells nice like all Iwhite Korea products that I have tried. I immediately tried it after my mom delivered it to our house the other night. I pack it all over my  cheeks and concentrated the application on my nose. I let it stay for a minute or two. I noticed that it felt a bit warm on the face and some areas where I applied the product felt a bit itchy. I also felt that it made some areas subtly swell. After a minute, I massaged it for 30 seconds to a minute then completely wipe it off with a clean and dry tissue. Next, I applied the Nose Pack. Just a quick kwento: I honestly do not like the Nose pack and Whitening Pack of Iwhite Korea. I have tried using them before but they did remove any of my whiteheads or blackheads. That being said, I did not have high hopes with the Pore Purifying Balm coupled with the Nose Pack but just for the sake of trying out the product, I proceeded in using the aforesaid products again. I made sure that the nose pack was completely dry before peeling it off and my eyes widened in amazement when I saw tiny yellow gunk while lifting the nose pack!!!!! It worked so well that looked at all the white heads the Nose Pack removed!
 Amazingly gross!!!!!
Another close up!!!

I really love my newest discoveries that I tried it on my siblings and even on my husband. The results were phenomenal and grossly satisfying!!!!! hahah

Here is the bestfriend of my sister and my younger sister modelling for me on how to massage the Pore Pufying Balm on the face. (They were so game posing for the camera! Haha They reminded me of my high school days with my bestfriend, Kaycee. Gaaaah I feel so old.)
Aren't they cute? They were all smiles until they started removing the pack. hahaha My sister was even teary eyed when I removed the nose pack from her face.

The nose pack of my sister was not as gross as mine! Eh di sila na ang bata!!haha Bitter!

Here are the photos from my brother's and husband's nose and whitening packs after being lifted from their faces!!! Eww right?!?! I noticed that the whitening pack if properly applied and dried completely can even pull facial hairs.

The Pore Purifying Balm plus the Nose Pack worked wonders on my skin. The Pore Purifying Balm effectively loosened up my pores. I prefer using the nose pack not only on the nose area but also all over the face as compared to the whitening pack.

MLI Tips: In using the Pore Purifying Balm, make sure to leave it for one to two minutes on the face then massage it afterwards for a minute or two. Then, completely wipe it off with a clean tissue (dry). Apply the nose pack in thin layers. Make sure that the first layer is dry before adding more to completely cover up the bubbles or tiny dots formed because of deep and open pores. Before lifting the nose or whitening pack, make sure that it is completely dry.

I highly recommend the Pore Purifying Balm together with the Nose and/or Whitening Pack to everyone!!!!! It worked for my dry and sensitive skin very well and even on my husband who has a very oily skin type. These products from Iwhite Korea come in sachets so you could try them first at a very affordable price before buying the full sized products.

Pink Sugar X Project Vanity These Lips Don't Lie Lip Crayons ( Review plus Swatches)

I have developed the habit of asking fellow beauty bloggers and youtube gurus about the makeup they wore on such a day whenever I would meet them in an event. In one of the events I got invited to last month, I was drawn to the lipstick that Liz wore so I curiously asked her if it was a Kylie Jenner lipstick and she gave a me a quick smile. Then, she revealed about a tiny hint about a collaboration with a brand. Of course, I looked forward to the day hoping Liz would invite me to the launch of her collaboration. Luckily, I got an invite and I was very thrilled to discover that the collaboration was with Pink Sugar and it featured  lip crayons.

In case I have not mentioned it, Pink Sugar has one of the most amazing lipstick formulas in the market. I love their color selection, scent, texture, opacity, and the fact that their lipsticks stay for hours on my lips without causing extreme dryness is truly a plus point. I was thrilled to see these crayons as part of their growing line.

Firstly, I love the lip illustrations on the box packaging of these lip crayons. I am pretty sure it was done by Liz. Unlike other lip crayons that has different colored packaging to match the shade of the lip crayon, these came in a uniform shade - pink packaging. Oftentimes, I get confused with the shades because the packaging looked the same and the shade name is located at the bottom of the lip crayon.
These are matte lip crayons but not entirely flat out matte in finish. These lip crayons have a hint of sheen that make the lips looked a bit moisturized. These crayons deliver rich and full color pay off with one swipe. The texture is creamy and blendable. This does not emphasize my lip lines and even the dry patches of my lips. They do not feel heavy and they feel very comfortable to wear. They do not bleed nor transfer outside the lip lines. I can use it on its own sans any lipliner because of its great pigmentation. It is fairly long lasting without eating and can last up to 4 hrs without retouch. However, I do noticed that at the 4th hour ,I can feel my lips drying up and developing crusty skin. (Do take note that my lips have been overtly dry ever since I got pregnant. Having cracked and peeling lips has been my thing for 8 months now! I do blame my hormones for this. So, I do not know if other experience the same dryness whenever they use these lip crayons.)

These crayons are scentless but in case you smelled the lip crayon bullet on the tube and you smelled plastic, that is definitely the tube not the crayon.
Ready in Five - a medium rosy barbie pink that surprisingly looks good on my warm skin tone. I usually veer away from pink lipsticks that tend to have that neon vibe but this shade just looks so pretty when worn. The shade is almost similar with Mac chatterbox but this is a tad deeper and with slights hints of purple.

Nothing to Wear - It is a deep plum shade that could work as a lipstick or a deep purplish pink stain. Out of all the shade, this has the tendency to look uneven on my lips because of my dry patches. When applied lightly and minimally, this looked like a lip stain.  This also leaves a hint of color even after eating.

Love at First Swipe - This is a warm walnut brown shade with  a hint of peach. This is a perfect nude lipstick for most Filipina skin tones.

Woke Up Like This - My fave in the bunch is a rosy mauve that looks very flattering for everyday wear. This can even pass as a wedding lip color to achieve that blushing bride glow!!!
For 399 pesos, these lip crayons are truly worth a try! The color selection is just awesome and I love the fact that there is not red in this collection. The shades are well curated and they are all very wearable even the darkest shade.

Have you tried thess newest lip crayons?

Squeaky Clean Face with Etude House

Sharing with you a bunch of Etude House Skin Care Goodies that I am presently using. If there is one product in my skin care stash that I go through very quickly, that would definitely be a makeup remover. I love cleansing my face. I always make sure there is no trace of makeup left on my face before hitting the sack. Yes, I double cleanse sometime even triple because there are days when I wear heavy duty makeup that I need to use two kinds of makeup remover to completely remove any makeup residue. I have recently discovered a lot of great finds from Etude House that fits perfectly on my skin care regime.
Curl Fix Mascara Remover - priced at around 250 pesos ( i forgot the price again sorry!), this mascara remover is pretty awesome for its price. This is made suitably for their Lash Perm Mascara which is one of the best I have tried but at the same time seriously one of the hardest to remove because of its budgeproof and waterproof formula. This mascara removers wipes off the most stubborn waterproof mascara and eyeliner you could imagine with such a breeze. It is made of coconut oil and seed extracts that melts away makeup in an instant. Just two three drops on a cotton pad is enough to completely wipe off makeup on one eye. I just placed this on top of my lids for a few seconds then wipe away clean the lid of any traces of makeup. I swear this is one of the best I have tried. I love the fact that it does not irritate/sting my eyes nor does it cause blurry vision. I tried removing face makeup with this remover but ended up with dry skin with white film. This is only recommended as an eye makeup remover. I will definitely repurchase.
Real Art No Wash Cleansing Water
I wanted to try the cleansing oil but find it too pricey for 800 plus pesos so i ended uo getting this huge bottle of cleansing water. This contains snail secretion filtrate and glycerin. This feels like water on the face. It does not effectively remove waterproof eye makeup like mascara and eyeliner but works best in removing face makeup. It feels light on the face and did not sting my psoriasis patches at all. I love the soothing scent of this cleansing water.
Baking Powder
This costs around 348 pesos. This is cream type makeup remover. During my initial usage of this cream, it stung my cheeks and lids. Later after continued usage, the stinging sensation subsided. This is an okay product to remove face makeup but it does not completely remove waterproof makeup. I use a gentle makeup cleansing wipes to wipe off the makeup and gunk on my face after a few seconds of massaging this cream all over.
Pure Water Baobab Cleansing Foam
This is another great discovery from Etude House priced at 328 pesos. This is made up of 22% plant originated moisturizing ingredients and 8.9 baobab water. This is very gentle and perfect for dry skin. Despite this, it removes gunk and impurities off my face without drying it up.

Natural Konjac Face Cleansing Puff
I use this with my facial cleanser. I do not use this everyday. I only use this whenever I wore makeup during the day. It removes all dirt and makeup reside that was not removed by makeup cleanser. It does tame  and scrape off the flakiness on my psoriasis. This costs 178 pesos.
I can't believe that there are skin care gems at Etude House that will suit my dry and sensitive skin. I think I will be looking into Korean skin care products more after I gave birth. I highly recommend the Curl Fix Mascara Remover, Real Art Cleansing Water and Pure Baobab Cleansing Foam.

What are your skin care picks/faves from Etude House?

What's New: K-Palette 3 Way Lasting Eyebrow Pencil

There is a new product from my favorite brand that is perfect in achieving brows on fleek. The newest K-Palette 3 Way Lasting Eyebrow Pencil features a smoother pencil, a stronghold powder and a spoolie. This retails for 795 pesos.
It comes in 4 shades Light Brown, Natural Brown, Mocha Brown, and Grayish Brown.
The spoolie is very useful to brush the brows in place and to remove excess product and powder/foundation that may have cling on to the brows during the makeup application. The pencil is pigmented and smooth. It does not tug and applies smoothly on the brows. I like the fact that it is retractable, hence, very travel friendly. The powder is equally pigmented and blendable. I like that it adheres seamlessly on the brows and it looks very natural too.
From left to right: light brown, natural brown, mocha brown and grayish brown

Light brown is best for those with light colored hair. I prefer natural brown out of the shades because it has the right amount of shade that suits my black roots or highlighted hair. Natural brown is truly the perfect neutral brown shade. So, when you are in doubt on what shade to pick, I highly suggest get the Natural brown or No.2. Mocha Brown is shade deeper than natural brown with a subtle hint of red tones. I find that it still verh wearable even for those with black or brown hair. Grayish brown as the name suggests has hints of gray and taupe. I find this color very strong for my liking but with a light hand , it still goes well on my brows.
This is how my brows look like without any product.
First, I brush my brows with the spoolie and go over it with a clear brow mascara. Afterwards , I apply the powder all over my brows.
My brows look fuller with the brow powder, isn't it? Then, to create a sharper arch and tail, I use the pencil to carve out the edges of my brows.

What is the difference with brow liquid liner and pencil liner of Kpalette? The liner delivers a sharper and sleeker look on the brows while the pencil gives a more natural finish.
This is how my brows looked like after using the 3 way brow pencil from Kpalette. What do you think?
Definitely another favorite product from this brand!!!
